Lahore: Punjab Revenue Authority (PRA) has launched a province-wide crackdown on large-scale tax evasion and manipulation of sales records by restaurants. hotels and marriage halls. The PRA has imposed a complete ban on the issuance of manual or informal receipts across the province. with notifications issued in this regard. Under the Electronic Invoice Monitoring System (e-IMS). the issuance of digitally monitored invoices would be mandatory for all hotels. restaurants. coffee shops and marriage halls. Businesses failing to issue receipts through e-IMS would be subject to fines ranging from Rs 400. 000 to Rs 1 million. while businesses found repeatedly violating the law may be sealed for up to one month. the PRA spokesman disclosed this to media here Monday.
