Mirpur (ajk): Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) President Dr. Muhammad Najeeb Naqi on Wednesday called for effective international efforts for a just and lasting settlement of the Kashmir dispute, it was officially said.
He was talking to former federal minister Khurram Dastgir Khan and renowned anchorperson and analyst Hamid Mir, who called on him at JK House on the federal metropolis and discussed matters of mutual interest, the political situation, Kashmir dispute and regional developments, AJK President office reported.
The AJK president said the human rights situation in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK) required immediate international attention, while global media and public opinion could play an important role in highlighting the Kashmir issue, he added.
Dr Najeeb said Pakistan and Kashmir were bound by strong historical, religious and emotional ties, adding that Pakistan’s political, moral and diplomatic support remained a source of encouragement for the Kashmiri people.
Khurram Dastgir Khan and Hamid Mir congratulated him on assuming office and expressed good wishes.
