Proposal to upgrade Lora Tehsil to sub-division discussed

Abbottabad: A meeting was held at the Commissioner Hazara Division’s office on Thursday to discuss the proposal for upgrading Lora Tehsil to the status of a sub-division.



The meeting was attended by MPA Rajab Ali Abbasi, Commissioner Hazara Division Fayyaz Ali Shah, Deputy Commissioner Abbottabad Sarmad Saleem Akram, the Additional Deputy Commissioner (General), Secretary to the Commissioner, and the Assistant Commissioner (Revenue) Hazara.



Participants discussed administrative matters related to Havelian Sub-Division and Lora Tehsil, examined public service issues, and considered the administrative, legal and financial aspects of the proposal to grant sub-division status to Lora.



Commissioner Fayyaz Ali Shah said comprehensive and practical recommendations would be forwarded to the provincial government in the larger public interest. He also directed the Deputy Commissioner Abbottabad to submit the proposed recommendations, Schedule of New Expenditure (SNE), and other relevant documents to the Commissioner’s Office at the earliest so that the case could be processed and forwarded to the provincial government for approval and further decision.



During the visit, WAPDA officials briefed the officers on the overall progress of the project and the security measures in place for the installation and operational activities.



Deputy Commissioner and the DPO directed the relevant authorities to ensure foolproof security for foreign experts, engineers and project staff, enhance surveillance at sensitive locations, strengthen inter-agency coordination, and further improve the effectiveness of joint search operations to maintain a secure working environment.



The visiting officials also inspected the under-construction Ghazi Police Facilitation Centre and instructed the concerned authorities to complete the project within the stipulated timeframe to enable the provision of modern and efficient police services to the public under one roof.



The visit underscored the district administration’s commitment to ensuring the timely completion of key development projects while maintaining robust security arrangements for national infrastructure and public service facilities.
