Bahawalpur: The Punjab Council of the Arts, Bahawalpur Division, organized a spiritually uplifting Naat Mushaira and an exhibition of Quranic calligraphy as part of the celebrations marking Eid Milad-un-Nabi.
The Naat Mushaira was held in an atmosphere filled with devotion and love for the Holy Prophet Hazrat Muhammad (PBUH). Noted poets including Diwana Baloch, Umar Ghothia, Khalid Mehboob, Prof. Dr. Iftikhar, Prof. Dr. Mazhar, Ashraf Khan Sohna, Tahir Hafeez Ghothia, Hassan Fareed, Nasir Sial,
Imran Ali Awan and Syed Ammar Ali Zaidi participated in the event. Prominent Naat poet Khursheed Nazir presided over the Mushaira, while Raja Shafqat Mahmood performed the duties of stage secretary.
Members of the Divisional Milad Committee and a large number of distinguished citizens also attended. The participating poets presented beautiful Naat verses in praise and devotion to the Holy Prophet (PBUH). The gathering reflected deep feelings of love and reverence for the Prophet (PBUH), while the audience listened to the Naat poetry with great respect and devotion. The organizers said the event aimed to promote Naat literature, strengthen the spirit of love for the Holy Prophet (PBUH), and acquaint the younger generation with Islamic and cultural values.
Director Punjab Council of the Arts Bahawalpur Division Dr. Nasir Hameed thanked the participating poets and guests for attending the event. At the conclusion of Mushaira, Divisional Peace and Milad Committee member Allama Abdul Razzaq Shaiq offered a special prayer for the safety, prosperity, peace and stability of the country and the Muslim Ummah.
Meanwhile, Punjab Council of the Arts, Bahawalpur Division, also organized an exhibition of Quranic calligraphy featuring exquisite artworks created by accomplished calligraphers Sohaib Ahmed Saeed, Nafees Ahmed and Shakeel Gul, as well as students of the Govt College of Technology for Women.
Chairman Department of Media and Communication Studies, The Islamia University of Bahawalpur, Prof. Dr. Adnan Malik, former chairman Prof. Dr. Rana Shehzad, senior calligrapher Muhammad Afzal Jahangir, Mushtaq Shaheen, members of the artist community, civil society representatives and students attended the exhibition. The participants and art enthusiasts highly appreciated the artistic skills of the calligraphers and students in presenting Quranic verses in a variety of traditional and contemporary calligraphic styles. Addressing the gathering, Director Punjab Council of the Arts Bahawalpur Division Dr. Nasir Hameed said Quranic calligraphy not only presents the verses of Holy Quran in an aesthetically beautiful manner but also helps promote love and spiritual attachment to the Holy Quran. The Naat Mushaira and Quranic calligraphy exhibition formed part of the council’s efforts to promote Islamic art and literature while highlighting the region’s rich cultural and spiritual
traditions on the occasion of Eid Milad-un-Nabi.
