Lahore: Prosecutor General Punjab Irfan Sadiq Tarar chaired an important meeting on Thursday to review operational matters and strengthen coordination among the prosecution department, police and the Punjab Forensic Science Agency (PFSA).
Director General PFSA Dr Muhammad Amjad, DIG Investigation Punjab Shoaib Khurram, DIG Legal Punjab Owais Amjad, Deputy Prosecutors General Dr Usman Iqbal, Sarfraz Khan Kachhi and Rukiya Ambreen, and DSP Legal Tanveer Amjad attended the meeting.
The meeting discussed ways to improve coordination among the three institutions and address procedural and operational difficulties affecting the legal process.
The prosecutor general directed all stakeholders to work closely together to develop an effective mechanism for streamlining legal procedures and resolving issues faced during investigations and prosecution, particularly those relating to the storage of forensic samples at the PFSA.
The participants agreed on several key measures, including strengthening coordination among the prosecution, police and PFSA, taking immediate steps to improve the storage and transportation system for forensic samples, and jointly implementing a comprehensive plan to make the process of justice delivery faster and more transparent.
The meeting concluded with a reaffirmation that all relevant institutions would perform their responsibilities through effective teamwork to ensure speedy and transparent justice for the public.
