Lahore: Punjab Prosecutor General Chaudhry Irfan Sadiq Tarar on Monday took serious notice of an alleged incident involving a foreign woman in Lahore and declared the case a ‘high-profile’ matter.
The case, FIR No. 2446/26, was registered at Defence C Police Station under Sections 375-A and 337-J of the Pakistan Penal Code on the complaint of a 20-year-old Azerbaijani national.
According to the FIR and the complainant’s statement, unidentified suspects allegedly lured the woman to a location, made her consume a drink containing an intoxicating substance, confined her against her will and sexually assaulted her.
Taking note of the sensitivity and seriousness of the matter, the Punjab Prosecutor General has summoned the investigating officer (IO), along with the original record and complete investigation file, to his office on September 30, 2026.
The prosecutor general directed that the investigation be completed without delay, in a transparent manner and in accordance with the law.
He said all legal requirements would be fulfilled to ensure that those found responsible are brought to justice and punished in accordance with the law.
Meanwhile, the victim girl recorded her statement before a judicial magistrate in Cantt courts.
