Rain continues across Islamabad; monitoring teams deployed in low-lying areas

Islamabad: Intermittent rainfall continued across several areas of Islamabad, prompting authorities to maintain monitoring and response measures.

On the instructions of the Deputy Commissioner, all Assistant Commissioners and magistrates remained on alert, while sanitation teams stayed in the field to ensure timely drainage of rainwater. Traffic flow continued on all major roads of the federal capital.

According to the district administration, rain was reported in different parts of Islamabad at intervals during the day. In response, Assistant Commissioners intensified monitoring of low-lying areas and storm-water drains to prevent water accumulation and address any issues that could affect residents or commuters.

Sanitation teams were deployed in the field to ensure the prompt removal of rainwater from roads and public spaces. Officials continued to monitor drainage systems and maintain coordination with relevant departments to respond quickly where needed.

Authorities said special attention was being given to areas vulnerable to water buildup. Monitoring teams remained active to keep track of the situation and ensure that drainage operations continued without interruption.

Despite the ongoing rainfall, traffic movement remained normal on Islamabad’s major roads. Officials stated that field staff would continue surveillance of low-lying areas and drains until weather conditions improve, while efforts to maintain smooth traffic flow and effective drainage operations remain in place across the city.
