Rawalpindi: Health authorities in Rawalpindi have registered 23 confirmed dengue cases out of 4,673 screened patients during the year, prompting intensive vector surveillance and strict administrative enforcement across high-risk union councils.
According to official disease surveillance metrics released by the District Health Authority Rawalpindi, 11 patients remain admitted in tertiary care hospitals, including six confirmed cases, while zero dengue-related fatalities have been reported to date.
Detailed field tracking records indicate a concentration of recent infections across urban and rural areas, with 17 cases reported in September across areas including Asghar Mall Scheme, Dhama Syedan, Pindora, Morgah, Mandra, Saraye Kala, Khayaban-e-Sir Syed, Bangish Colony, Saidpur Scheme, Wah Cantt and Kotha Kalan.
Health authorities initiated punitive enforcement against property owners violating anti-dengue regulations, registering 2,717 First Information Reports (FIRs), sealing 678 premises, issuing 2,239 challans, and imposing fines totaling Rs. 28,32,000.
