Sukkur: In compliance with the Sindh High Court orders and to provide relief to the public, arrangements are underway to shift buffalo enclosures from the city to the Cattle Colony. Deputy Commissioner Khairpur, Altaf Ahmed Chachar on Thursday, visited the Cattle Colony located near Rohri Canal to oversee the progress.
Accompanied by senior officials, including Chairman Municipal Committee Khairpur Dr. Yar Muhammad Phulpoto and Deputy Director Livestock Dr. Nazir Mallah, the Deputy Commissioner directed the Survey Superintendent to complete the demarcation of plots in Phase II of the Cattle Colony at the earliest. He also instructed the Chairman Municipal Committee to ensure the installation of street lights and proper lighting arrangements within the enclosures.
The Deputy Commissioner further stated that coordination would be made with the SSP Khairpur to establish a police picket around the Cattle Colony to provide adequate security to livestock owners. He added that a comprehensive scheme would be proposed to address the remaining basic facilities, ensuring permanent and effective infrastructure and services at the Cattle Colony.
The officials briefed the Deputy Commissioner on plot demarcation, allotment, and other administrative measures, assuring prompt implementation of the directives.
