Dera ismail khan:Regional Police Officer (RPO) Dera Range Ghulam Mubashir Maken on Friday held a telephonic open court to provide people, particularly those living in remote areas, direct access to senior police authorities and ensure prompt redressal of their complaints.

According to the police spokesman,the initiative was aimed at facilitating residents of Dera Ismail Khan, Tank, Upper South Waziristan and Lower South Waziristan districts by enabling them to directly communicate their complaints, problems and police-related issues to the RPO without having to travel to the regional police office.

During the telephonic open court, citizens contacted the RPO directly and apprised him of their problems and grievances. The RPO listened to the complaints and, in several cases, immediately referred the matters to the concerned Station House Officers (SHOs), Sub-Divisional Police Officers (SDPOs) and Superintendents of Police (SPs) for necessary action.

Ghulam Mubashir Maken directed the concerned police officers to take prompt and effective action on the complaints in accordance with law and submit compliance reports to the Regional Police Office within three days.

He made it clear that negligence or unnecessary delay in addressing genuine public complaints would not be tolerated.

The RPO said direct communication between police and the public was essential for effective policing and strengthening public confidence in the police department.

Keeping in view the travelling difficulties and loss of time faced by residents of remote areas, he said the telephonic open court was being organized to provide citizens with an easy and effective mechanism to directly bring their grievances to the notice of the senior police leadership.

According to the Dera Range Police, the telephonic open court would be held every Tuesday and Thursday from 11: 00 a.m. to 12: 00 noon for residents of Dera Ismail Khan, Tank, Upper South Waziristan and Lower South Waziristan districts.
