Lahore: Punjab Police have reaffirmed its commitment to the welfare of martyrs’ families by providing a residential house worth Rs 13.5 million to the family of Shaheed constable, who laid down his life in the line of duty.
According to a Punjab Police spokesperson, the house has been purchased in a private housing society in Multan in accordance with the family’s preference. The provision of the house was made possible through the special efforts of Inspector General of Police Punjab Dr Usman Anwar, following which the Government of Punjab released the required funds.
Shaheed Constable Abdullah bin Mazhar embraced martyrdom in 2024 after coming under fire from dacoits in the Katcha area. He is survived by his wife and two daughters.
Paying rich tribute to the martyr, IGP Punjab Dr Usman Anwar said that Shaheed Abdullah bin Mazhar sacrificed his life while performing his duty with courage and devotion. He added that Punjab Police would always remember the sacrifices rendered by its brave officers and officials.
Dr Usman Anwar further said that Punjab Police are the custodian of more than 1,700 martyrs, and ensuring the welfare and well-being of martyrs’ families remains the top priority of the force.
