Islamabad: Safe City Islamabad delivered strong performance in the first two weeks of 2026, conducting over 6,800 surveillance operations and facilitating 6,670 citizens through Police Khidmat Markaz services and digital support systems.
An official told reporter on Wednesday that the Safe City Directorate also helped trace 129 proclaimed offenders and absconders through advanced digital surveillance tools. DG Safe City Muhammad Haroon Joya said that the Hik-Lab and Golden Hour systems enabled rapid response in 54 major cases, allowing investigation officers to obtain suspects’ routes, movements and identities within the crucial early hours.
He added that the Digital Surveillance Team, using high-resolution cameras and analytics, played a key role in arresting the 129 fugitives, marking a major success in ongoing operations against criminal elements.
The official further stated that the Digital Control Room guided 6,670 citizens, while nearly 3,000 complaints were registered and resolved on priority through the Complaint Management System.
The Women’s Online Police Station helpline 1815 received 200 calls, all responded to immediately. The emergency helpline Pucar-15 received over 38,000 calls, ensuring timely assistance across the federal capital.
According to DG Haroon Joya, citizens also shared 318 reports via the Info App, which helped improve response and strengthen public-police coordination.
He said Safe City Islamabad continues to utilise modern technology to enhance policing efficiency and remains committed to ensuring a safe, peaceful and organised environment for all residents.
