Lahore: An important meeting was held on Tuesday at the Punjab Institute of Cardiology (PIC) under the chairmanship of Provincial Health Minister Khawaja Salman Rafique and Chairman of the Punjab Chief Minister’s Advisory Committee on Cardiology Dr Farqad Alamgir.
The meeting reviewed in detail the progress of the under-construction Jinnah Institute of Cardiology, the ongoing recruitment process for various posts and preparations to open its outpatient department (OPD) to the public soon.
Board members Asad Ali Khan and Dr Zubair Akram, Hospital Director Dr Sabrina Jamil, Professor Hasnat Khan, Board Member Irfan Ali, Parveen Qadir Agha, Member Health PandD Shafaat Ali, Shahid Imtiaz of the Law Department, Dr Nadia Qamar of PIC and other officials attended the meeting. Several participants joined via video link.
Khawaja Salman Rafique said that, in line with the vision of Chief Minister Punjab Maryam Nawaz Sharif, the institute would provide world-class cardiac healthcare facilities to people in the region.
He said the institute would become fully operational soon and provide new and advanced treatment facilities to heart patients, adding that it would prove a landmark institution for cardiac care.
Dr Farqad Alamgir said all board members were playing their role in the development of the institution. He said the institute would be developed as a transparent and modern healthcare model.
