LDA demolishes five illegal commercial structures, seals 63 properties


Lahore: Town Planning Wing of the Lahore Development Authority (LDA) demolished 5 illegal commercial structures and sealed 63 properties in different parts of the city.



On the direction of LDA Director General Tahir Farooq, LDA teams carried out enforcement operations in LDA-controlled areas and various housing schemes, including LDA City Road, Shahid Town, Pak Arab Housing Scheme, Gulberg, Faisal Town, Canal Road, Shadman and Poonch Road.



The teams demolished five illegal structures in LDA City Road, Shahid Town and Pak Arab Housing Scheme. Meanwhile, 25 properties in Gulberg and Faisal Town were sealed for illegal commercial use. Another 38 properties along Canal Road, Shadman and Poonch Road were sealed over illegal commercial use and non-payment of commercialisation fees.



The sealed properties included private schools, colleges, academies, halls, salons, cafes, restaurants, food points, grocery stores, clinics, hardware and electrical stores, pharmacies, shops, car showrooms and offices, among others.



The operation was conducted under the supervision of Chief Town Planner-I Asad-uz-Zaman and Chief Town Planner-II Azhar Ali. The LDA DG said indiscriminate action against illegal commercial buildings and properties defaulting on commercialisation fees would continue across the city.
