Lahore: A visiting Pakistani food delegation has received an overwhelming response from Saudi counterparts in Riyadh, who expressed keen interest in importing a wide range of high-quality Pakistani food products to meet the growing demands of the Saudi market.
According to a spokesperson here on Sunday, leader of the delegation Saif-ur-Rehman stated that Saudi Arabia offered immense opportunities for Pakistani food exporters owing to its rapidly expanding consumer market.
He noted that the ongoing visit would help open new avenues for Pakistani food exports, diversify export destinations, and further solidify bilateral economic ties between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia.
During the visit, the Pakistani delegation held a series of productive meetings with leading Saudi importers, distributors, retailers, and business groups, briefing them on Pakistan’s food-processing capabilities and competitive export potential.
The Saudi business community showed particular interest in Pakistani rice, fruits, vegetables, processed foods, snacks, confectionery, spices, and other value-added items.
Saif-ur-Rehman highlighted that Pakistan possesses the capacity to supply bulk quantities of quality food items at competitive prices while adhering strictly to international standards of food safety, packaging, and certification.
He emphasized the need for joint efforts by the government and private sector to facilitate exporters, improve logistics, and promote Pakistani brands in international markets.
Both sides agreed to establish sustainable business linkages, boost bilateral trade, and facilitate direct contacts between Pakistani exporters and Saudi buyers.
