ISLAMABAD: The Supreme Court of Pakistan on Thursday adjourned hearing for indefinite time on intra court appeals against termination of civilians’ trial in military courts.
A seven-member larger bench headed by Justice Amin ud Din Khan heard the appeal of federation. During the course of proceeding, Attorney General of Pakistan Mansoor Usman Awan said that the meeting of arrested accused have been arranged with their families. He said that the authorities concerned have been told about the court directives in this regard.
He said that process of accused’s meetings with families should have not stopped.
The AGP said that there were some legal problems in shifting of the accused to jails.
Earlier, Justice Jamal Khan Mandokhail remarked that why the accused were still in judicial custody if investigations have been concluded.
Addressing the AGP, Justice Muhammad Ali Mazhar said that the court was told that the meeting of the accused are being ensured on every Saturday. He questioned that why this practice
is stopped.
He further said that you have to point out the mistake in already issued judgment into the matter.
Justice Amin ud Din said that next date for the hearing would be fixed on the basis of availability of seven-member bench.
The court later adjourned further hearing of the case for indefinite time.
