Karachi: A delegation of restaurant owners who won the Sindh Food Awards 2026, led by Syed Awais Naqvi, met with the Governor of Sindh, Syed Muhammad Nihal Hashmi, at the Governor’s House here on Thursday.
The Governor of Sindh congratulated the restaurant owners who received the Sindh Food Awards 2026, along with other individuals associated with the food industry.
Addressing the gathering on this occasion, the Governor said that it is the responsibility of us all to maintain high standards of cleanliness, hygiene, and quality services in the food industry. Kitchen and food staff must be bound to strictly adhere to the fundamental principles of cleanliness, hygiene, and health.
He stated that there should be no compromise under any circumstances on the high standards of cleanliness and hygiene in restaurants.
Individuals associated with the food industry are ambassadors of Pakistan’s culture, traditions, hospitality, and positive identity, he observed.
The Governor of Sindh remarked that promoting the food industry can generate new opportunities for employment and economic activities.
He assured full cooperation in resolving the issues faced by the food industry and restaurants.
On this occasion, restaurant owners and representatives of the food industry requested the Governor of Sindh to grant restaurants the status of a formal industry and to take measures to eliminate business difficulties.
Restaurant owners and other representatives associated with the food industry participated in the meeting.
