Lahore: A nine-member special medical board constituted by Principal Ameer-ud-Din Medical College Professor Dr. Farooq Afzal has declared university student Fatima, who was under treatment at Lahore General Hospital (LGH), fit for surgery.
Following the board’s decision on Saturday, the patient was shifted to the Punjab Institute of Neurosciences (PINS) for advanced medical care.
Professor Dr. Farooq Afzal stated that the foremost mission of LGH is the protection of human life. He said that senior specialist doctors, supported by dedicated nursing and paramedical staff, provided Fatima with round-the-clock treatment and exceptional professional care, enabling her to reach a condition where surgery has now become possible.
He emphasized that every patient at LGH is treated as a ‘VIP’ without any discrimination, adding that the provision of quality healthcare remains the institution’s top priority.
Principal PGMI / AMC also appreciated the services of Chairman Special Medical Board Professor Jodat Saleem, Medical Superintendent Professor Dr. Faryad Hussain, and the entire medical team involved in the patient’s care. Expressing gratitude to Almighty Allah, he said that Fatima is now fully prepared for surgery.
Reiterating the hospital’s commitment, Professor Dr. Farooq Afzal said that patient life and health are always placed above all other considerations, stressing that this principle will continue to be upheld with complete sincerity, as nothing is more precious than human life.
