Peshawar:The Federal Tax Ombudsman Advisor, Sardar Ali Khawaja on Thursday assured that tax-related concerns of university teachers would be addressed promptly.
He said this during a meeting held at Regional Office Peshawar and attended by heads of Peshawar University’s various departments.
During the meeting, the university representatives expressed their gratitude to the Federal Tax Ombudsman for reinstating the tax rebate, a move that has resolved a longstanding issue of heads of department. They also requested the early payment of pending refunds, which have been delayed in recent years.
Sardar Ali Khawaja emphasized that teachers were respected members of society and they would be accorded utmost respect in all tax offices. He assured that issues related to tax rebates and refunds would be resolved without delay.
Furthermore, he reaffirmed the Federal Tax Ombudsman’s commitment for conducting prompt, fair, and independent investigations into any incidents of maladministration in tax matters.
