District

HYDERABAD: The district police and Hyderabad Private Schools Association (HPSA) have inked a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for providing concession in fee to the children of policemen in their schools.

The ASP Rana Mehmood Dilawar and the association’s Muhammad Anwar signed the agreement at a ceremony attended by SSP Hyderabad Sajid Amir Sadozai and other policemen and the education officials.

As per the agreement two children of martyred policemen would be enrolled every year in the private schools free of charge.

Separately, the children of the serving policemen would be provided 30 percent concession in the monthly school fee.

The Chairman of Pakistan Private Schools Pervaiz Haroon appreciated the initiative of the association’s Hyderabad chapter.

He announced that the association was planning to extend similar facilities to the children of the cops in other districts of Sindh as well.

The SSP acknowledged that due to their preoccupation with crime fighting, the policemen were often not able to spare time for the social welfare activities.

“Because of this a distance has emerged between the police and the public. There is a need to bridge this distance, ” he underlined.

The SSP also distributed appreciation certificates on the occasion.
