Jauharabad: A 17-year-old boy drowned while bathing in a canal near Jauharabad on Wednesday, rescue officials said. The victim, identified as Muhammad Tauqeer, a resident of 3 Marla Scheme No. 2 in Quaidabad, was bathing in the Muhajir Branch Canal near the Quaidabad Bridge on Sakesar Road when he was swept away by strong currents. A Rescue 1122 team from Quaidabad recovered the teenager’s body after a search operation and handed it over to his family.
