Rawalpindi: Mushaal Hussein Malik, chairperson of the Peace and Culture Organization and wife of Kashmiri Hurriyat leader Yasin Malik, on Thursday warned that there was a risk of her husband being sentenced on January 28 as she addressed traders at Bajaur Plaza in Raja Bazaar during an ongoing public outreach campaign for his release.
She said the campaign was being further organised with the full support of traders and the general public to draw the attention of the international community to India’s actions.
She said India’s policies had become a threat to regional and global peace, adding that South Asia was passing through a sensitive phase.
She stressed that there should be no relaxation in relations with India until Yasin Malik was released and urged the Pakistan government to raise the case at global forums.
Mushaal said the public outreach campaign had been under way since November and, for the first time, activists were visiting streets, neighborhoods and markets to inform people about the facts surrounding the case against Yasin Malik.
She further said a signature campaign would be completed in Rawalpindi’s markets and housing societies to build international pressure for Yasin Malik’s release.
