Attock:The Anti-Corruption Establishment (ACE) Attock arrested two revenue department officials of Jand for allegedly accepting a bribe to facilitate the registration of a property deed, officials said on Thursday.
According to an ACE spokesperson, the action was taken on a complaint filed by Hafeezur Rehman, a resident of Jand tehsil. Circle Officer Anti-Corruption Jahangir Khan, along with his team, conducted the raid under the supervision of Judicial Magistrate Najam Ayub.
The accused, identified as Iftikhar Ahmed and Mohammad Fayyaz, working as deed writers in the Jand revenue office, were allegedly caught red-handed while receiving Rs26,000 in exchange for facilitating the registration of a five-marla plot, the spokesperson said.
A case has been registered against the accused, while further investigation is under way, according to ACE officials.
