Hyderabad: District Health Officer Hyderabad, Pir Ghulam Hussain, here on Monday urged parents and residents of the city to ensure that all children until the age of 10 years administer polio drops during the upcoming anti-polio campaign scheduled to be conducted from August 20 to 31.
The District Health Officer called upon parents to extend their full cooperation to polio vaccination teams and make sure their children were administered the oral polio vaccine to protect them against the crippling disease.
He further said that Hyderabad has remained polio-free for the past six months, attributing the achievement to the joint efforts of the district administration, Health Department, polio workers and the public.
Congratulating the people of Hyderabad on this achievement, Pir Ghulam Hussain urged them to continue supporting the anti-polio campaign until the disease would be completely eradicated from the country.
