PESHAWAR: The Vice Chancellor Agriculture University Peshawar Professor Dr. Jahan Bakht Friday sent a letter to the Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Ali Amin Gandapur for payment of salaries and the University is suffering from severe financial crisis.
In his letter, the Vice Chancellor Professor Dr. Jahan Bakht said that the university has had no money to pay the employees for the last two months. In this connection, Vice Chancellor of Agriculture University Dr. Jahan Bakht has written a letter to Chief Minister KP Ali Amin to release funds for payment of salaries.
The remaining Rs 200 million funds should be given for the payment of June salaries of university employees, the letter said.
On June 4, a meeting was held under the Chairmanship of the Chief Minister regarding the financial constraints of the universities and the meeting was attended by the Chief Education Minister and Finance Advisor, the letter said.

The Finance Department has released Rs 22.60 million only for the payment of salaries and pensions for the month of May and the University is not in a position to pay the salaries of the employees for June while the month of July is also being completed for the payment of salaries, the letter said.
A letter was sent to the Secretary Higher Education to pay the remaining funds of Rs 200 million, but no response has been given so far, the letter said.
