VC FUUAST appreciates recent universities heads gathering for higher education optimization in Pakistan


Islamabad: Vice Chancellor (VC), Federal Urdu University of Arts, Science and Technology (FUUAST), Prof. Dr Zabta Khan Shinwari, on Friday appreciated the collective commitment of universities to share expertise, develop joint academic and research initiatives, and work together for the improvement of higher education and research environment in Pakistan.



The third meeting of VCs of twin cities was held here at Air University, which was chaired by the Chairman Higher Education Commission (HEC), Dr Niaz Ahmed Akhtar bringing together vice chancellors from universities across the Islamabad Rawalpindi and the surrounding regions.



The forum served as an important platform to discuss the future of higher education in Pakistan and to exchange views on the major challenges and opportunities facing the sector.



Participants discussed a wide range of issues, including quality assurance, accreditation, institutional autonomy, governance, academic standards, research and innovation, emerging technologies, capacity building, and stronger collaboration among universities.



Speaking on the occasion, Prof. Dr Zabta Khan Shinwari said that such forums play a vital role in promoting cooperation among universities and strengthening the higher education system.



Dr Shinwari emphasized that close collaboration among higher education institutions is essential to improve academic quality, encourage innovation, and prepare universities to meet future national and global challenges.



The participants agreed that continued cooperation and regular consultation among universities would help build a more autonomous, innovative, quality-driven, and globally competitive higher education system in Pakistan.



Dr Shinwari appreciated the leadership of air University particularly Vice Chancellor of Air University, Air Marshal (R) Abdul Moeed Khan, for hosting this important forum and the HEC chairman for providing an inclusive platform for dialogue and collective reflection. He also thanked the heads of the other universities who participated in the forum.



This was the third meeting of the Vice Chancellors’ Forum. The previous meeting was hosted by the Federal Urdu University (FUUAST), Islamabad.
