Rawalpindi: Saddar Barooni Police have arrested a woman’s brother-in-law for allegedly murdering her and burying her body to conceal the crime, while her two daughters have been safely recovered, Police spokesperson said.
According to police, the suspect allegedly killed the woman with the help of other accomplices and buried her in a pit in an attempt to destroy evidence.
Preliminary investigations suggest that property greed may have been the motive behind the murder, although further investigation is underway.
On the suspect’s identification, police recovered the woman’s body from the burial site and shifted it to a hospital for a post-mortem examination.
Special teams have been formed to arrest the suspect’s alleged accomplices, and raids are being conducted at various locations.
SP Saddar said all those involved in the incident would be arrested and brought to justice. She added that no matter how cunning a suspect may be, no one can escape the grip of law.
Further investigation into the case was in progress.
