Zikria Zia takes charge as ICCI President, pledges to protect business community’s interests

Islamabad: Mohammad Zikria A Zia on Thursday formally assumed charge as President of the Islamabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ICCI), along with Mohammad Ashfaq Hussain Chatah as Senior Vice President and Mohammad Waqas Khan as Vice President.

Speaking on the occasion, Zikria Zia said that leading ICCI was a great honour as well as a major responsibility, and pledged to make every effort to protect and promote the interests of the business community.

He said that his focus would remain on resolving key business issues, improving the business environment and working for the development of markets, industrial areas and Islamabad as a whole. ‘We will work collectively and remain accessible to the business community,’ he added.

Senior Vice President Ashfaq Chatah and Vice President Waqas Khan assured ICCI members that they would discharge their responsibilities with dedication and work closely with the business community to address their concerns.

Sheikh Tariq Sadiq congratulated the new office-bearers
and expressed confidence that the new leadership would continue the tradition of serving the business community and strengthening ICCI.

Former President Sardar Tahir Mehmood, Senior Vice President Tahir Ayub and Vice President Mohammad Irfan Chaudhry also congratulated the new leadership and conveyed their best wishes.

The outgoing office-bearers were later given a warm send-off in recognition of their services to ICCI and the business community.
