Sanghar: More than 100 children suffering from cleft lip underwent free corrective surgeries during a two-day medical camp organised at Suleman Roshan Medical Hospital in Tando Adam.
The camp was held with the support of former Pakistan Peoples Party senator Malik Imamuddin Shauqeen and was supervised by renowned Karachi-based plastic surgeon Prof Dr Mohammad Ashraf Ganatra. In addition to the surgeries, patients were provided with free medicines and post-operative medical care.
According to the hospital administration, the initiative aimed to provide quality surgical treatment to underprivileged children who could not otherwise afford the costly procedure. A team of specialist doctors and medical staff carried out the operations over the two-day camp.
Residents and members of civil society appreciated the humanitarian initiative, describing it as a significant contribution to improving the lives of children born with cleft lip and easing the financial burden on deserving families. They expressed hope that similar free medical camps would continue to benefit patients from Tando Adam and surrounding areas.
