Multan: A meeting was held between National Accountability Bureau (NAB), Multan and Multan Chamber of Commerce and Industry (MCCI) here Thursday to discuss promotion of a corruption-free and business-friendly environment.

Rafiullah, Director NAB Multan, Tauseef Hanif, Additional Director NAB Multan, MCCI President Bakhtawar Tanvir Sheikh, Vice President Muhammad Azhar Baloch and MCCI Secretary General Muhammad Shafiq were in attendance, NAB Multan spokesman said in a statement.

In line with the Chairman NAB’s vision, NAB Multan reiterated to facilitate the business community, address their grievances and engage them to foster transparency and to develop an environment with shared responsibilities for a corruption free Pakistan.

During the session, the MCCI president commended NAB’s proactive outreach, highlighted the routine challenges faced by the businesses, and stressed the need for a regulatory environment that supports commerce. To streamline future cooperation, it was agreed upon to continue cooperation after setting modalities.

DG NAB Multan acknowledged the business community’s vital contribution to economic growth and gave assurance of assistance of NAB for a business-friendly environment.

Peshawar: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Mohammad Suhail Khan Afridi on Thursday chaired a meeting to review progress on rehabilitation and upgradation of District Headquarters (DHQ) Hospitals of the province.

The CM directed relevant authorities to complete these projects by the end of current fiscal year and said that no further delay in the public welfare initiative would be tolerated.

During the meeting, officials informed the meeting that four separate PC-I schemes worth Rs33.085 billion have already been approved for rehabilitation and upgradation of 32 DHQ hospitals throughout KP.

The meeting was further informed that the procurement of modern medical equipment worth Rs2.55 billion has been completed and the equipment has already been supplied to the respective hospitals.

Officials also stated that the infrastructure designs for the hospitals have been approved while civil works are expected to commence shortly.

Directing the concerned departments to accelerate implementation, CM instructed that hospitals where work is near completion should be prioritized and made operational for public use as soon as possible.

He also directed officials to immediately identify and remove obstacles hindering the project’s progress stressing that unnecessary delays would not be accepted under any circumstances.

CM announced that the project’s progress would be reviewed again after three months reiterating that rehabilitation and upgradation of DHQ hospitals, establishment of proposed Health City remains one of the provincial government’s top priorities.

Rawalpindi: City Police Officer (CPO), Hassan Mushtaq Sukhera on Thursday visited Naseerabad Police Station to review its operational and administrative standards, emphasizing the importance of efficient public service and professional policing.

During the visit, the CPO inspected the front desk, Moharrir’s office, lock-up, police station building, and other key sections. He also met with the staff, discussed operational matters, and issued directions aimed at improving service delivery.

Addressing the officers, CPO Sukhera instructed them to ensure the prompt resolution of complaints brought by citizens visiting the police station. He emphasized that visitors must be treated with courtesy and respect, warning that negligence in service delivery would not be tolerated.

“The protection of citizens’ lives and property, along with the timely provision of justice, remains our foremost priority,” the CPO said.

He directed all officers to uphold professional standards and ensure that every citizen deal with courtesy, respectful, and efficient service in accordance with the law.

Peshawar: The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government on Thursday included 19 development projects for Batagram district under the Khushhal Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Budget 2026-27 to accelerate development and improve public services.

According to official documents, the projects cover 10 key sectors with a total estimated cost of Rs21.02 billion.

The development portfolio included schemes related to road infrastructure, healthcare, education, clean drinking water, irrigation, tourism, sports, energy, urban development, and other essential public services.

Officials said the projects were aimed at improving the quality of life, creating employment opportunities, strengthening the local economy, and promoting tourism and commercial activities in the district.

They said the initiative would help lay the foundation for a modern, developed, and prosperous Batagram while ensuring sustainable development and long-term benefits for future generations.

Larkana: Larkana police have arrested three accused in two separate operations aimed at curbing drugs, recovering two kilograms and 100 grams of hashish (charas) from their possession on Thursday.

According to Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Larkana, Ahmed Chaudhry, the first operation was conducted within the jurisdiction of the Allahabad police station in the railway track area, where a drug dealer named Hussain Jatoi was arrested, and one kilogram and 80 grams of hashish were recovered from his possession.

The second operation was carried out within the limits of the Sehar police station, where police arrested a drug dealer named Sikandar along with one kilogram and 20 grams of hashish. During this operation, a wanted accused, Sajjad Gadahi, was also arrested.

The SSP said that all three arrested suspects were involved in serious crimes. He further informed that the criminal records of the arrested individuals were being checked. Additionally, they were being interrogated about buyers, local dealers, and suppliers, and further legal action was being taken.

Dera ismail khan: At least six people were killed and six others injured in a clash between two groups in the Shah Hassan Khail area of

Dera Ismail Khan, on Thursday, according to police sources quoted by tv channels.

Police said the rival groups exchanged fire during the confrontation, leaving six people dead at the scene.

Six others sustained injuries in the incident. A police team rushed to the area after receiving information about the clash and shifted the bodies and injured persons to a nearby hospital for legal formalities and treatment.

The motive behind the clash could not be immediately ascertained. Police have launched an investigation to determine

the circumstances and cause of the incident.
