Sukkur: Deputy Commissioner (DC) Khairpur, Altaf Chachar on Friday visited Gambat Institute of Medical Sciences (GIMS) Hospital to inquire after Police Constable Younis Lashari, who was injured in an armed attack in Shikarpur district two days ago.

During the visit, the DC presented a bouquet to the injured officer and asked about his health.

On the occasion, DC Khairpur said that Police Constable Younis Lashari’s morale is high and his condition is improving. He informed that the officer had sustained a gunshot wound to the kidney. All medical facilities have been provided to the injured officer, and we pray for his speedy recovery, he added.

Meanwhile, the Director of GIMS, Dr Raheem Bux Bhattin stated that the officer suffered a Grade-III injury due to the gunshot wound in the kidney. He said that Younis Lashari regained consciousness yesterday, his condition is stable, and a team of specialist doctors is continuously providing treatment.

Sukkur: Prominent personalities of Sukkur, Aijaz Memon and Junaid Memon Fazal Muhammad Rahujo, Shahid Bhutto and others visited the office of Pakistan Muslim League-Functional and held a meeting with PML-F Provincial Leader, Syed Shafqat Ali Shah here on Friday.

During the meeting, matters pertaining to the Economic and Social Issues, current political situation in Sukkur district, and public welfare issues came under discussion.

The notables apprised the provincial leader of the problems faced by the people of Sindh Specially Sukkur and discussed ways to strengthen the party at the grassroots level.

Syed Shafqat Ali Shah welcomed the guests and said that PML-F, under its leadership is actively working for democracy, provincial rights, and public service.

He further stated that the party leadership is in close contact with workers and notables across the province to address public issues on a priority basis.

The meeting concluded in a cordial atmosphere, with both sides reaffirming their resolve to work together for the betterment of the people.

Sukkur: The founder and Director of Gambat Institute of Medical Sciences (GIMS), Captain (Retired) Dr. Raheem Bux Bhatti on Friday visited the Taluka Hospital GIMS Mehar and reviewed the administrative affairs.

Accompanied by GIMS Board of Directors member and former Additional Chief Secretary Mian Khalid Mahmood Soomro, DHO Dadu Dr Abdul Hameed Khunharo, MS GIMS Mehar Dr. Syed Muhammad Shah Rizvi, Coordinator Dr. Abdul Wahid Daryani, Dr. Waseemuddin Soomro, renowned Nephrologist Dr. Rameez Chandio, WHO District Officer Rajneesh Gul, Dr. Shakeel Lakhir, and Advocate Sajjad Channa, Dr. Bhatti visited various departments including Dialysis, Gynaecology, Laboratory, General Surgery, and Orthopaedics.

He also inspected the ongoing construction work of the new Emergency Unit at GIMS Mehar.

Speaking on the occasion, GIMS Founder Dr Bhatti said that all units of GIMS Mehar Hospital are now complete. We are committed to providing the best possible healthcare facilities to the public. A magnificent institution has been established in Mehar which will prove to be a model facility.

Former Additional Chief Secretary Mian Khalid Mahmood Soomro said that we are here today, but we will not be here tomorrow. However, institutions will remain. I consider myself fortunate to have the support of people like Dr. Raheem Bux Bhatti, MPA Fayaz Ali Butt, and the current GIMS Mehar team. Together, we have established a better institution. We will strive to bring even better projects in the future.

Sukkur: The distribution and installation of solar home system kits to eligible households across various districts of Sindh is underway under the Sindh Government’s ‘Roshan Ghar – Roshan Sindh’ program.

As part of this initiative, 164 households in Shaheed Benazirabad district and 193 households in Noshehro Feroze district have been provided with solar kits on Friday.

The solar kits are being distributed under the Energy Department’s Solar Home System (On-Grid/Off-Grid) Project, which is being implemented by the Sindh Rural Support Organization (SRSO).

The objective of the Solar Home System project is to provide reliable, affordable and sustainable energy solutions through solar technology to 275,000 households in 30 districts of Sindh, selected through a transparent process.

Following verification and scrutiny as per the eligibility criteria set by the Sindh Government, the solar home system kits are being provided free of cost to the selected beneficiary households.

SRSO has clarified that no fee or charges are being collected at any level* for survey, verification of households, distribution of kits, or installation at homes.

Havelian: At least thirteen people were injured in a clash between two groups in the Havelian area of Abbottabad, tv channels reported on Friday.

Initial reports stated that the rival groups exchanged hot words during the confrontation, leaving thirteen people injured at the scene.

Rescue team rushed to the area after receiving information about the clash and shifted the injured persons to a nearby hospital for treatment.

The motive behind the clash could not be immediately ascertained. Further investigation into the incident is underway.

Peshawar: Provincial Law Minister Aftab Alam on Friday chaired a meeting in Peshawar to address issues related to the provision of land for the Kohat Chamber of Commerce and Industry building.

The meeting, attended by Provincial Information Minister Shafi Jan, MNA Shehryar Afridi, Special Assistant Humayun Khan, senior officials, and representatives of the Kohat Chamber, reviewed legal, administrative, and revenue hurdles in the land provision process.

Officials informed the meeting that the Kohat Chamber is the only active chamber serving the southern districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. The participants also discussed the legal constraints regarding the transfer of government land to private institutions.

Affable Alam directed relevant departments to resolve all hurdles through coordination and complete legal formalities at the earliest.

He said the provincial government is committed to promoting industry, trade, and investment and providing facilities to the business community to boost economic activities and create employment opportunities.
