Bahawalpur: Vice Chancellor Islamia University of Bahawalpur Prof-Dr Muhammad Kamran has stressed the need to promote outcome based education in the country.

According to an official press release issued by the IUB here, Vice Chancellor of the Islamia University of Bahawalpur Prof Dr Muhammad Kamran delivered a special lecture on outcome based education to the faculty members of University of Kamalia.

During the session, Dr Kamran emphasized the importance of aligning the educational curriculum with student performance outcomes to meet global standards and bridge the gap between traditional teaching and modern industrial requirements.

The lecture focused on developing a student-centered framework, designing learning objectives for teaching and enhancing institutional quality assurance mechanisms, it concluded. The faculty members and administration of Kamalia University highly appreciated Dr Muhammad Kamran’s expertise and practical approach.

Hyderabad: The Hyderabad police shot dead two accused robbers, allegedly involved in interprovincial crimes, in an encounter near Cantt graveyard in the limits of Makki Shah police station.

The police spokesman informed here on Saturday that two brothers Muzamil Razzak and Dilshad Razzak, hailing from Gujranwala district, Punjab, lost their lives in an exchange of fire with the police.

The spokesman claimed that the slain suspects allegedly carried out robberies with the help of their female associates, mainly targeting lady doctors.

He added that the suspects were allegedly booked in 35 cases of robberies and other crimes.

According to the spokesman, the suspects had allegedly conducted robberies in Gulshan-e-Bakhtawar, Cantt and Gulistan-e-Sajjad localities in the months of April and June this year.

The bodies were shifted to Liaquat University Hospital for medico legal formalities.

Bahawalpur: Following the directions of the government of Punjab, the district administration has established.

Heatwave Relief Camps across the city to provide immediate assistance to citizens affected by the ongoing extreme heat and heatwave.

Commissioner Syed Hassan Raza visited the Heatwave Relief Camp in the city to inspect the facilities and arrangements available for the public.

During the visit, the commissioner reviewed the provision of chilled drinking water, Oral Rehydration Solution (ORS), first aid services, shaded areas, seating arrangements, and other essential facilities. He directed the concerned officials to ensure that every citizen visiting the camp receives all available assistance without discrimination and that no one faces any difficulty in accessing relief or medical services during the intense heat.

Speaking on the occasion, the commissioner said that protecting the lives and well-being of citizens during the heatwave is the district administration’s highest priority. He instructed the relevant departments to provide immediate medical treatment to anyone affected by heatstroke and to shift critically ill patients to the nearest hospital without delay.

Kohat: Kohat Police arrested five suspects and recovered weapons and narcotics during a search and combing operation carried out in the jurisdiction of Jarma Police Station on Saturday as part of an intensified campaign against criminal activity.

The operation was conducted on the directives of District Police Officer (DPO) Shahbaz Ilahi and led by Station House Officer (SHO) Iqbal Khan. According to police, the operation resulted in the alleged recovery of two Kalashnikov rifles, three rifles, one pistol and 50 grams of methamphetamine, commonly known as “ice.”

Police said separate cases had been registered against the arrested suspects under the relevant laws, while the recovered weapons and narcotics were taken into custody as evidence. The allegations are based on police claims, and the suspects are presumed innocent unless proven guilty in a court of law.

In addition, six individuals were detained for questioning and verification of their identities as security personnel conducted searches at various locations to strengthen law and order. Police said such operations would continue across the district to curb crime and enhance public safety.

Sialkot: A man was electrocuted after coming into contact with a fallen electricity wire in the Fatah Garh area of Sialkot during heavy rain and strong winds,Rescue 1122 officials said on Saturday.

The deceased was identified as Ameer Hussain(34),who was returning home from work late at night when he reportedly stepped into rainwater carrying a live electricity wire that had snapped during the storm.

According to Rescue 1122,local residents discovered the body the following morning and alerted emergency services.

Rescue personnel reached the scene, secured the area, recovered the body and handed it over to the victim’s family.

Rescue 1122 urged the public to avoid broken electricity wires, electric poles and waterlogged areas during rainfall, advising citizens to immediately report such hazards to the relevant authorities or the emergency service.

Faisalabad: An alleged kidnapper was killed and two of his accomplices managed to escape while the police safely rescued the abducted girl after an encounter in the area of Ghulam Muhammad Abad police station.

Police spokesperson Tariq Jutt said that the rescue emergency service received a call reporting that five-year-old Fajar Noor had gone from her home in Rehmat Town to purchase an item from a nearby shop but failed to return. The caller alleged that the child had been abducted by unidentified persons.

Taking immediate notice of the incident, City Police Officer (CPO) Tanveer Hussain constituted a special police team to recover the child and arrest the accused.

Using CCTV footage and other available evidence, the investigators quickly identified the suspected kidnappers and launched a search operation, he added.

He said that three suspects riding two motorcycles were allegedly transporting the abducted girl when Station House Officer (SHO) Ghulam Muhammad Abad police station Inspector Yousaf Sapra along with his team reached the vicinity of Subhan Allah Chowk during the operation.

The police officers heard child’s cries coming from an abandoned shop near the chowk and the SHO directed the suspects inside the premises to surrender, but they allegedly opened indiscriminate fire on the police party.

The attackers continued firing, prompting the police to return fire in self-defense.

Senior Superintendent of Police (Operations) Imran Ahmad Malik also reached the scene with additional force after receiving information of the encounter.

When the exchange of fire ended, the police found one accused lying injured inside the premises. He had sustained gunshot wounds allegedly fired by his own accomplices during the shootout.

Rescue personnel examined the injured suspect and confirmed his death at the scene. The deceased was identified as Bilal and the police recovered a pistol and a motorcycle from his possession.

The kidnapped girl was rescued unharmed and SSP Operations Imran Ahmad Malik later handed her over to her family.

The police also launched a search operation to trace and arrest the escapees while further investigation was under progress, spokesman added.
