DC Murree reviews cleanliness, Civic facilities Under ‘Suthra Punjab’ drive


Rawalpindi: Deputy Commissioner Murree Agha Zaheer Abbas Shirazi conducted a detailed inspection of various areas of the hill station to review sanitation, civic services, and tourist facilities under Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif’s Suthra Punjab vision.



Assistant Commissioner Murree, Managing Director WASA, SDO PERA, Chief Officer of the Municipal Corporation and other officials were also present.



The Deputy Commissioner visited Bagh-e-Shuhada, Kashmir Point, and View Fort Jhika Gali.



The visit aimed to assess the implementation of the chief minister’s directives to improve cleanliness, ensure the provision of safe drinking water, strengthen drainage systems, and enhance facilities for tourists.



Officials from the relevant departments briefed the deputy commissioner on ongoing projects and development initiatives.



During the inspection, Agha Zaheer Abbas Shirazi directed authorities to maintain high standards of cleanliness at all tourist attractions, roads, markets, and public places across Murree.



He also ordered the immediate removal of obstacles affecting the drainage system and stressed that no negligence in the provision of basic public services would be tolerated.



The deputy commissioner further instructed PERA and the district administration to ensure the complete removal of encroachments from roads and markets, intensify action against profiteers, and strictly enforce official price lists.



He said preserving Murree’s natural beauty, cleanliness, and orderly environment in accordance with the chief minister’s vision was essential to provide tourists with a clean, safe, and pleasant experience.



The deputy commissioner added that the district administration was utilizing all available resources to transform Murree into a model tourist destination, with the performance of all relevant departments being continuously monitored.

Sargodha Gymkhana Club new media coordinator appointed


Sargodha: Deputy Commissioner Sargodha and President of Sargodha Gymkhana Club, Hussain Ahmad Raza Chaudhry, has appointed senior journalist and club member Muhammad Tahoor Bilal Asghar as the Media Coordinator of Sargodha Gymkhana Club.



According to the spokesperson for the DC office here on Sunday, the appointment was formally notified through an official notification issued by Additional Deputy Commissioner (Revenue) Ahmad Haroon.



Expressing confidence in the appointment, the DC said Muhammad Tahoor Bilal Asghar would utilise his professional expertise to strengthen the club’s public image and enhance communication with club members, public institutions and the wider community.



He added that the newly appointed Media Coordinator would also ensure timely and effective media coverage of the club’s activities, sporting events, ceremonies and other programmes.



According to the official notification, Asghar will be responsible for overseeing the club’s media affairs, preparing official press releases and media statements, coordinating photographic, video and written coverage of club events, producing promotional material, maintaining media records and ensuring the club’s effective representation across social media platforms, in addition to other assigned responsibilities.



Sargodha Gymkhana Club new media coordinator appointed

Punjab Minister reviews progress of RMK Road Project, directs completion by August


Rawalpindi: Provincial Minister for Communication and Works Malik Sohaib Ahmed Bharth conducted a comprehensive inspection of the RMK Road Project, a flagship initiative under Chief Minister Punjab Maryam Nawaz Sharif’s Murree Development Plan.



During the visit, the Minister travelled more than 31 kilometers along the under-construction road to personally assess the pace, quality and overall progress of the project.



The Minister was accompanied by Secretary Communication and Works Raja Jahangir Anwar, the Chief Engineer, Executive Engineer (XEN), and other senior officials.



During the briefing, officials informed the Minister that overall physical progress on the RMK Road Project has reached 60 percent, while the remaining work is progressing at an accelerated pace.



Expressing satisfaction over the progress, Malik Sohaib Ahmed Bharth directed the concerned authorities to ensure completion of the project by the month of August, while maintaining the highest standards of construction quality. Speaking on the occasion, the Provincial Minister said that the RMK Road Project is a key component of Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif’s Murree Development Plan, aimed at upgrading road infrastructure and improving connectivity in the hill station.



He emphasized that the timely completion of the project would provide safe, efficient and high-quality travel facilities to both tourists and local residents.



The Minister appreciated the dedicated efforts of the Highways team working on the project and commended their commitment to achieving construction targets.



He stressed that no compromise would be made on construction quality, directing officials to maintain the current pace while ensuring strict adherence to engineering standards.



Malik Sohaib Ahmed Bharth further stated that the project would significantly improve access to Murree and its surrounding rural areas, promote tourism, facilitate socio-economic development and strengthen regional connectivity.
