Abbottabad: The District Administration of Hazra division on Monday issued a public advisory after the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) forecast heavy rain accompanied by thunderstorms in various districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa from July 13 to July 19.

In response to the weather forecast, the district administrations of the region have directed all relevant departments to take necessary precautionary and preparedness measures to deal with any emergency situation.

Tourists and travelers have been urged to exercise caution while travelling, remain updated on the latest weather conditions, and avoid unnecessary risks during the forecast period.

The administration advised the public to immediately contact the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Tourism Helpline (1422) or the District Control Room (0992-9310553) in case of any emergency.

Rawalpindi: Entire nation stands shoulder to shoulder with the country’s security forces in the ongoing fight against terrorism. Operation Shaban”, a joint anti-terrorism operation being conducted by Pakistan’s Armed Forces, the Frontier Corps (FC), and the Balochistan Police against terrorists in Balochistan.

Hyderabad: The Deputy Commissioner Zain Ul Abedin Memon, in coordination with department for empowerment of persons with disabilities (DEPD) and Al-Asar Foundation arranged an event for distribution of wheelchairs, three-wheeler motorcycles, crutches, hearing aids and motorized wheelchairs for more than 200 differently abled persons.

According to a handout, the deputy commissioner also visited the Rehabilitation and Therapy Center of Al-Asar Foundation and discussed issues faced by the administration.

Deputy Commissioner, on the occasion, assured full support to the foundation by pledging to contribute maximum financial assistance through donors and philanthropists so that the foundation can feasibly manage its expenses including rent, staff salaries, etc.

Dera ismail khan: Six members of a family, including four women and two children, were injured when the roof of a room collapsed during heavy rain and a storm in Aman Mela village of Darazinda tehsil.

According to details, the incident occurred at the house of Jamal, a resident of Darazinda, where the roof of a room suddenly caved due to heavy rain and a storm. The collapse left four women and two children injured.

The residents rushed to the scene and shifted the injured to a nearby hospital for medical treatment.

The hospital sources said one of the injured women was in critical condition and was referred to District Headquarters Hospital, Dera Ismail Khan, for specialized treatment.

Doha: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Monday arrived here for a daylong visit to offer condolences to Qatar’s leadership over the death of the former Amir of Qatar Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani.

The prime minister is accompanied by Former Prime Minister Mian Muhammad Nawaz Sharif, Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Ishaq Dar, and Minister for Information and Broadcasting Attaullah Tarar.

Upon his arrival at Doha Airport, Prime Minister Shehbaz, former prime minister Nawaz Sharif, and the Pakistani delegation were received by Qatar’s Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of State for Defence Sheikh Saud bin Abdulrahman bin Hassan bin Ali Al Thani.

Prime Minister Shehbaz will proceed to Lusail Palace, where he will meet Amir of Qatar Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani. During the meeting, he will convey his heartfelt condolences to the Amir of Qatar, the Qatari Royal Family, and the people of Qatar on the demise of the former Amir of Qatar, the late Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani.

On Sunday, Prime Minister Shehbaz, in a statement, expressed grief over the demise of former Qatari Amir, remembering him as ‘a great leader and statesman whose wisdom, foresight and dedication to public service, transformed Qatar into a modern, prosperous and globally respected nation.’

To express solidarity on behalf of the Government and people of Pakistan with the Royal Family, Government, and people of Qatar on this sad demise, the prime minister declared today (13th of July, 2026), as a day of national mourning in Pakistan, with the national flag flying at half-mast throughout the country.

Dera ismail khan: A month-long ‘Waziristan Peace Festival 2026’, organized by Frontier Corps Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (South), concluded successfully after bringing together thousands of young athletes in a series of sporting events aimed at promoting peace, unity and healthy engagement across the region.

The festival featured 219 cricket, football and volleyball matches at 23 venues across Waziristan, with more than 4,000 players representing 201 teams. The large turnout of participants and enthusiastic public response highlighted the success of the initiative in encouraging youth participation in positive activities while fostering a stronger sporting culture.

The closing ceremony was held in Wana and attended by tribal elders, local dignitaries, civil administration officials and a large number of young people.

During the event, tribal elders and the Inspector General Frontier Core South distributed prizes among the winning teams and outstanding players in recognition of their performances. Addressing the gathering, the speakers emphasized the vital role of youth in building a peaceful society, underlined the importance of sports in promoting harmony and discipline, and reaffirmed the commitment to peace, stability and development in Waziristan.

The successful conclusion of the Waziristan Peace Festival 2026 reflected the continued efforts to provide constructive opportunities for young people, nurture their talent and strengthen social cohesion through sports.
