ISPR Summer Camp 2026 brings together over 4,000 students from across Pakistan


Rawalpindi: The Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) organized Summer Camp 2026, bringing together over 4,000 male and female students from over 18 stations across Pakistan.



The camp aims to provide young participants with opportunities for learning, engagement, and personal development.



Vice Chancellor of Riphah International University, Dr. Anis Ahmad, held a special interactive session with the participants. The discussion focused on Pakistan’s past, present, and future, as well as the Two-Nation Theory.



Addressing the students, Dr. Anis Ahmad said that the ideology of Pakistan served as the intellectual foundation that united the Muslims of the Indian subcontinent in their pursuit of a separate identity and an independent homeland.



He said that Pakistan’s Constitution provides religious, social, and legal protections for all minority communities.



He said India’s extremist policies and its discriminatory treatment of minorities have further exposed the true nature of its so-called secular image.



Dr. Anis Ahmad described Pakistan’s position on Kashmir dispute as principled, consistent and unequivocal.



He encouraged students to study history, conduct research, and rely on credible sources in order to develop their own independent opinions.



He further urged young people to make the best use of their talents, become agents of positive change, and contribute to Pakistan’s development and progress.

SP Tahir reviews security arrangements at Marriott Hotel, briefs personnel


Islamabad: Superintendent of Police (SP) Aiwan-e-Sadr/Parliament House Tahir Mehmood Khan visited security deployment points at the Marriott Hotel to review security arrangements and assess the performance of personnel deployed at the site.



An official told reporter on Thursday that the SP Tahir inspected various security duty points and interacted with officers and officials performing security duties.



During the visit, SP Tahir briefed the personnel on the nature of their assignments and directed them to perform their duties with professionalism, discipline, vigilance, and a high sense of responsibility.



He emphasized the importance of maintaining operational readiness, remaining alert at all times, and ensuring effective security measures to safeguard important locations and visitors.



The official said the Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT) Police continued to strengthen security arrangements at sensitive locations to ensure the safety of citizens and maintain law and order in the federal capital.

6 killed in house fire


Peshawar: At least six members of a family, including a husband, his wife, and four children, were killed after a fire broke out in the house here in the Tahkal area on Thursday, rescue officials said.



Rescue teams rushed to the scene after receiving information about the incident and shifted the bodies to a nearby hospital, Tv channels reported.



Authorities have launched an investigation to determine the cause of the fire.

IG Islamabad reviews investigation performance, orders faster justice delivery


Islamabad: Inspector General of Police (IGP) Islamabad, Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi, chaired a meeting with Deputy Inspector General (Headquarters), Muhammad Ateeq Tahir and Senior Superintendent of Police (Investigation), Muhammad Usman Tariq Butt to review departmental affairs and further improve the investigation system.



An official told reporter on Thursday that the meeting discussed the progress of under-investigation cases, the overall performance of the Investigation Wing and various administrative matters aimed at enhancing the efficiency of policing in the federal capital.



The IGP Rizvi reviewed the pace and quality of investigations and directed officers to ensure timely disposal of cases through professional, transparent and merit-based investigations.



He emphasized that providing citizens with prompt justice remained a top priority and instructed investigators to further improve investigation standards by adopting modern policing practices and maintaining close supervision of pending cases.



Rizvi also directed the officers to strengthen coordination, enhance accountability and ensure that every investigation was conducted impartially and in accordance with the law to reinforce public confidence in the criminal justice system.

DC announces welfare package for staff


Sargodha: Deputy Commissioner (DC) and Chairman District Council, Hussain Ahmad Raza Chaudhry, on Thursday announced a comprehensive welfare package for the council employees,including health cards,insurance coverage, educational scholarships and performance-based incentives.



According to a spokesperson, Chairing a review meeting of the District Council, the DC directed the authorities concerned to provide health cards and insurance facilities to all employees, stressing that no compromise would be made on their welfare.



He announced educational scholarships of up to Rs 500,000 for the children of District Council employees pursuing higher education. In addition, he ordered the provision of motorcycles to building and enforcement inspectors to improve operational efficiency and directed that outstanding employees be rewarded for their performance.



The DC urged the employees to perform their duties with dedication, honesty and commitment, assuring them that further welfare initiatives would also be introduced in the future.



During the briefing, officials informed the meeting that under the Punjab Chief Minister’s Beautification Programme, the District Council had so far spent Rs 700 million on beautification projects across the district.



They added that Rs 600 million had been allocated for development schemes and Rs 200 million for repair and rehabilitation works during the current fiscal year.



Chief Officer District Council Asad Haria, Municipal Officer (Regulation), District Officer (Planning), Municipal Officer (Finance), and other relevant officials attended the meeting.

KP Govt working to strengthen province’s finances: Shafi Jan


Peshawar: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Minister for Information and Public Relations, Shafi Jan here on Thursday said that the provincial government was working to ensure financial stability and strengthening economic base.



Speaking on the province’s financial performance during a press conference along with CM aide on fiance Muzamil Aslam, Shafi Jan said the current provincial government had, on several occasions, paid government employees’ salaries in advance despite financial challenges.



According to him, the province has managed to achieve greater financial stability. Shafi Jan also claimed that wheat was procured during the caretaker govt period but payments to farmers were not made.



He said treatment under Sehat Card was restored by the provincial government. He said the provincial government had spent Rs125 billion on the Sehat Card programme over the past three years.



He claimed the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government had received Rs72 billion over the past two years under the net hydel profit arrangement.



Highlighting development spending, Shafi Jan said the province spent Rs 240 billion during the previous fiscal year against an Annual Development Programme (ADP) allocation of Rs 195 billion. He added that 40 percent of funds under the current fiscal year’s ADP had already been released.



Regarding development funding, he added that the provincial government had released Rs 11 billion under the AIP for the merged districts.
