Dera ismail khan: Residents of South Waziristan Upper continued to approach the Deputy Commissioner’s Office to present their grievances and administrative issues under the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government’s public service agenda and the open-door policy introduced by Deputy Commissioner Irfan Ali Khan.

According to the administration during the meetings, Deputy Commissioner Irfan Ali Khan listened to the complaints of residents and directed the concerned departments to address the issues promptly in accordance with the law.

Speaking on the occasion, the deputy commissioner said the district administration remains committed to ensuring transparent, timely and merit-based resolution of public complaints.

He said that providing direct access to citizens was a key feature of the open-door policy, enabling residents to bring their concerns before the district administration without unnecessary hurdles.

He reiterated that the doors of the deputy commissioner’s office remained open to the public at all times and assured citizens that resolving their problems efficiently would continue to be the district administration’s top priority.

Sargodha: The Federal investigation Agency FIA arrested two human traffickers including a proclaimed offender, here on Friday. According to Spokesman Muhammad Ajmal, the FIA netted a human trafficker, Muhammad Riaz, a resident of Kotmomin, who had received Rs 15 lakh from three family members of Kotmomin area for sending them to Spain. In another raid, a proclaimed offender, Intizar Hussain, was arrested from Hafizabad area, who was involved in Dubai visa fraud with five people and had taken Rs. 13.50 lakh from them. The FIA registered cases against the arrested accused under Immigration Act 1979 and started further investigation.

Gujrat: Deputy Commissioner Gujrat Noor-ul-Ain Qureshi on Friday chaired a meeting to review progress on water storage projects being executed in Lalamusa under the Punjab Development Programme (PDP).

According to official sources, Deputy Director Development Tasawar Kalyar and other relevant officers attended the meeting.

The participants were informed that construction of three underground water storage tanks on GT Road, Lalamusa, had been completed, while work on a one-million-gallon underground tank at Government Tauqeer Shaheed Girls High School was 75 per cent complete.

The deputy commissioner directed the concerned authorities to accelerate the remaining work and ensure completion of the project by the end of the current month.

Dera ismail khan: The Regional Transport Authority (RTA) monitoring team intensified its enforcement campaign against passenger transport vehicles, taking action against operators involved in safety and fare violations on various routes across the district.

Acting on the directives of RTA Secretary Shaukat Iqbal, the monitoring team carried out inspections and initiated legal action against vehicles found using illegally installed LPG cylinders, overcharging passengers, and carrying commuters beyond the permitted seating capacity, here on Friday.

The RTA said the ongoing campaign was also aimed at ensuring compliance with the government’s Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), which were focused on passenger safety, the provision of quality transport services, improved public transportation standards, and strict adherence to transport laws and regulations.

The authority urged all transport operators to comply with traffic rules, government-approved fare schedules, and safety regulations to ensure safe, reliable, and quality travel facilities for passengers.

Dera ismail khan: Chairman of the National Assembly Standing Committee on Defence, Sardar Fatehullah Khan Miankhel, chaired a high-level meeting at the Deputy Commissioner’s Office on Friday to review the progress of ongoing development projects and public welfare initiatives across the district.

The meeting was attended by Deputy Commissioner Hikmatullah Khan, heads of government departments and other relevant officials.

During the meeting, departmental heads briefed the MNA on the status of ongoing and recently completed development schemes, implementation of public welfare projects, challenges hindering progress and future plans. The participants also discussed measures to ensure the timely completion of projects while maintaining transparency and quality standards.

Speaking on the occasion, Sardar Fatehullah Khan Miankhel said public welfare and the development of Dera Ismail Khan remained among the top priority of the Pakistan Peoples Party. He appreciated the performance of government departments and said effective coordination among institutions was essential for completing development projects on schedule and delivering improved public services.

He also acknowledged the efforts of Deputy Commissioner Hikmatullah Khan in closely monitoring development schemes and said stronger coordination between the district administration and elected representatives would further accelerate the pace of development.

The MNA said he was actively pursuing the approval of several major development projects and special federal funds for Dera Ismail Khan in the federal capital. He expressed confidence that the district would soon receive positive news regarding new development initiatives and funding aimed at improving infrastructure, expanding basic public services and addressing the problems faced by local residents.

Bahawalpur: A man drowned after allegedly suffering epileptic seizure while bathing in a canal in Shamsabad area of Ahmadpur East tehsil of the district.

Official sources in the Punjab Emergency Service said that a 50-year-old man reportedly drowned after suffering an epileptic seizure while bathing in a canal in Shamsabad area near Ahmadpur East city.

They said that the victim identified as Mehboob son of Ramzan, had gone to the canal for a bath when he suddenly experienced an epileptic seizure, causing him to fall into the water and drown. Rescue officials stated that the victim’s relatives were present at the scene and declined to have the body shifted to a hospital. At their request, the body was instead moved to the family’s nearby residence.
