Sargodha: Deputy Commissioner Hussain Ahmad Raza Chaudhry visited tehsil Kot Momin to inspect ongoing development projects, sanitation measures, healthcare facilities and flood-affected areas.

According to the spokesperson for the DC office here, the DC reviewed progress on the Kot Momin Interchange Road Beautification Project and expressed dissatisfaction over the pace of work.

He directed the departments concerned to complete the project within the stipulated timeframe while ensuring high standards of quality, aesthetics and durability.

Inspecting activities under the Suthra Punjab programme, he stressed that negligence in sanitation would not be tolerated. He instructed officials to maintain cleanliness in the city, markets and major roads at all times, ensure daily monitoring of sanitation operations and take action against those responsible for poor performance.

Hussain Ahmed Raza Chaudhry also inspected several drainage channels and reviewed arrangements for desilting and stormwater disposal.

Officials were directed to ensure timely cleaning of all drains and keep the drainage system fully operational to prevent waterlogging during rainfall.

Additional Deputy Commissioner (General) Ghulam Sarwar, Assistant Commissioner Kot Momin Mohsin Dhillon and officials of the Suthra Punjab Agency accompanied the Deputy Commissioner during the visit.

Sargodha: District police arrested 33 outlaws and recovered narcotics,illegal weapons from their possession. Police said on Wednesday the teams of different police stations raided at various areas under their jurisdiction and arrested Sohail, Shoaib, Imran, Nouman, Aftab, Khizer, Samiullah, Wasim, Wasif, Tayyeb, Altaf and others,besides recovering 1.5 kg hashish,1.2 kg opium , 122 liters liqour ,3 pistols, 2 guns,98 bullets and valuables worth in millions of rupees from them.

Further investigation was underway.

Dera ismail khan: A price review meeting was held in Tank under the chairmanship of Additional Deputy Commissioner (General) Naimatullah to review the prices of essential commodities and ensure strict implementation of official price lists.

The meeting was attended by Additional Assistant Commissioner Malik Sajid Ali Khan, the District Food Officer, police officials, representatives of the All Traders Association, and other relevant officers.

The meeting reviewed the prices of essential food items, implementation of government-notified rates, and measures to curb hoarding and profiteering.

Various proposals were discussed in consultation with representatives of the trading community, keeping the public interest in view.

Addressing the meeting, Additional Deputy Commissioner (General) Naimatullah directed the concerned departments to ensure effective enforcement of official price lists across the district.

He also urged the trader community to cooperate with the district administration by providing quality essential commodities to the public at government-prescribed rates, emphasizing that collective efforts were essential to protect consumers and maintain price stability.

Hyderabad: The Governor of Punjab, Sardar Saleem Haider Khan, arrived at Shaheed Benazirabad Airport on Wednesday. He was received at the airport by Sindh Minister for Culture and Tourism, Syed Zulfiqar Ali Shah.

According to details, the Governor of Punjab, along with the provincial minister, will attend the Urs celebrations of Shah Abdul Latif Bhittai.

On the occasion, several officials and political figures were also present at the airport, including Pakistan Peoples Party District President Salim Zardari, Deputy Commissioner Abdul Samad Nizamani, SSP Sameer Noor Channa, In-charge Zardari House Mir Muhammad Siyal, and others.

Faisalabad: City Police Officer (CPO) Tanveer Hussain paid tribute to martyred Constable Haseeb on his death anniversary and said that sacrifices of police martyrs were an enduring symbol of courage and patriotism.

A smartly turned out police contingent led by CPO presented a formal salute at the grave of martyred constable.

The CPO laid wreath at the grave and offered ‘Fateha’ for the departed soul. He also paid homage to the supreme sacrifice rendered by Constable Haseeb in the line of duty.

Constable Haseeb had embraced martyrdom eleven years ago after fighting bravely against terrorists near D-Ground while performing his official responsibilities, spokesman said.

Faisalabad: National Highway and Motorway Police (NHMP) have offered Faisalabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry (FCCI) to provide facility for the issuance of international driving permit provided proper driving track and office space is ensured.

Addressing a road safety seminar, DIG NHMP Central II Dar Ali Khan Khattak said that traffic discipline was the only criteria to judge the civilized traits of any nation. He emphasized the importance of road safety and said that fatal accidents were rampant in Pakistan which could be averted through precautionary measures only.

He said that 90 percent of accidents were caused due to the negligence of drivers, 5 percent due to dilapidated roads and 5 percent because of technical faults in vehicles. He said the maximum speed limit on motorways was 120 but “we give leverage of 10km to the drivers for the purpose of challan”.

Khattak said the facility of driving permit was currently available in Islamabad, Karachi and Sheikhupura only. ‘The same facility could be provided to Faisalabad if driving track and proper sitting areas could be provided by the FCCI’, he said and added that permits issued by NHMW would be valid for 132 countries and it could also offer job opportunities to the potential individuals to get the job of driver abroad.

He assured to add more road signs and repair of the currently deleted or damaged boards. Earlier, FCCI President Farooq Yousaf Sheikh welcomed the guests and said that textile was the only iconic representation of Faisalabad but now its industrial portfolio had been widened with the addition of many new and hi-tech industries.

He said that FCCI had 22,000 members hailing from 128 sectors and sub-sectors. He said that fundamentally the objective of FCCI was to resolve the issues confronted by the business community but now the chamber had become the mouthpiece of 10 million residents of this city.

‘Upon our demand the stuck up development works have been restarted after a gap of ten long years’, he said and particularly thanked Chief Minister Maryum Nawaz for doling out reasonable funds for the uplift of different projects.

He said that now electric buses were running on the city roads while the metro project was in full gear, however this city still lacks many important facilities including cancer hospital and dedicated civilian airport.

He appreciated the services of NHMP and said that people were forced to follow the traffic rules as soon as they enter on the motorways.
