Rawalpindi: Following the notice taken by Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif regarding the landslide at Kausar Colony in Lower Dhok Masiari, the Murree district administration has accelerated emergency relief and rehabilitation efforts under “Mission Murree Relief. ”

A high-level team led by Assistant Commissioner Murree Captain (Retd) Arshad Iqbal along with District Disaster Management Coordinator Haroon Zahoor and officials from Forest, Rescue 1122, Civil Defense, WASA and Highways departments, visited the affected site to inspect debris-clearing and relief operations, says a press release.

According to the details, while interacting directly with the affected families, officials expressed solidarity on behalf of the provincial government and assured them that complete rehabilitation resources were being deployed in accordance with the Chief Minister’s directives.

The Assistant Commissioner instructed relevant departments to double the pace of relief operations, ensure temporary shelter and basic amenities for displaced families, and execute immediate protective measures to prevent future land slips.

A district administration spokesperson affirmed that inter-departmental operations are continuing round-the-clock to restore normalcy in the area as swiftly as possible.

Similarly, WASA Murree field teams and heavy machinery remain on high alert following continuous monsoon rainfall across Murree and the Galliyat region, ensuring uninterrupted drainage and smooth traffic flow across the hill station. Drainage channels were cleaned and repaired timely, keeping major arteries including Mall Road, Bank Road, View Forth Road, and Lower Mall open for routine vehicular traffic.

According to MD WASA Murree, safety gratings and manhole covers are being installed over drainage channels to safeguard citizens. To handle any rain emergency round-the-clock, WASA Murree has established emergency relief camps at Mall Road and Kashmir Point, fully staffed and working along with the district administration.

Meanwhile, Rescue 1122 Murree teams have intensified relief and monitoring operations in Kausar Colony adjoining Jhika Gali and other surrounding hilly areas following continuous monsoon rains. Heavy rainfall triggered water surges in local streams across Murree city, Satra Meel, and Angoori Dam, prompting rescue teams to render preemptive measures and safety operations to prevent accidents.

In addition to active relief work, Rescue 1122 personnel are conducting ground surveys across landslide-susceptible zones and vulnerable settlements in the district to address emerging hazards timely.

Deputy Commissioner Muree, Agha Zaheer Abbas Shirazi is directly monitoring the real time releie and emergency services. The administration has advised citizens and tourists to avoid unnecessary travel during heavy downpours.

Rawalpindi: Deputy Commissioner Rawalpindi Capt. (Retd) Nadeem Nasir on Saturday visited Gawalmandi Bridge to inspect the water flow in Nullah Lai and review the flood preparedness arrangements amid the ongoing monsoon spell.

During the visit, the deputy commissioner was briefed by officials on the latest water situation and the precautionary measures being implemented to tackle any potential emergency. Authorities informed him that the water flow in Nullah Lai remained within normal levels and that the situation was stable.

Expressing satisfaction over the current conditions, Capt. (Retd) Nadeem Nasir directed all concerned departments to remain on high alert throughout the monsoon season and ensure round-the-clock monitoring of vulnerable and flood-prone locations to enable a swift response in case of any emergency.

He stressed that all line departments must maintain close coordination and keep emergency response teams fully prepared to protect the public from any untoward situation caused by heavy rainfall.

The deputy commissioner said the Water and Sanitation Agency (WASA), Rescue 1122, and the district administration were fully mobilised and working in coordination to deal with any developing situation. He reaffirmed that the protection of citizens’ lives and property remained the district administration’s foremost priority and that all available resources would be utilised to ensure public safety throughout the monsoon season.

Hyderabad: One Day Free Medical and Surgical Camp to be organized by Khidmat Khalq Foundation (KKF) on Monday, July 27, 2026, at KKF Medical Complex Hyderabad.

According to a press release issued here on Saturday, Eminent Specialists including Dr. Muhammad Awais Memon, Dr. Saeed Memon and Dr. Ahsan Ali Shaikh will examine the visiting patients and provide free medicines, Ultra Sound facility, Laboratory test in medical camp. Registration of patients will start at 10. 00 am to 3. pm and Camp to be continued till 9. 00 pm.

Sanghar: The passing-out parade of the 188th Recruit Training Course was held at the Police Training College Shahdadpur, where newly trained police recruits completed their training and formally joined the Sindh Police force.

Deputy Inspector General (DIG) Shaheed Benazirabad Range Faisal Bashir Memon attended the ceremony as the chief guest. He inspected the parade and congratulated the recruits on successfully completing their training.

Addressing the ceremony, the DIG said that Sindh Police was playing a vital role in maintaining law and order and eliminating terrorism across the province. He paid tribute to the hundreds of police personnel who sacrificed their lives in the line of duty for the restoration of peace.

He urged the newly passed-out recruits to perform their duties with honesty, discipline, commitment to the rule of law and a spirit of public service to ensure the protection of the lives and properties of citizens.

Principal Police Training College Shahdadpur and SSP Zahida Parveen, while addressing the ceremony, said that modern training was being provided to police officers and personnel in accordance with contemporary requirements. She added that special focus was being given to the training of female police officials so they could effectively serve women and other segments of society after joining field duties.

At the conclusion of the ceremony, awards and certificates were distributed among recruits who demonstrated outstanding performance during the training course.

Sargodha: Deputy Inspector General (DIG) Prisons Sargodha Region, Saeedullah Gondal on Saturday inspected District Jail Shahpur, reviewing security arrangements, inmate welfare measures and the overall functioning of the prison.

During the visit, Gondal toured various barracks and met inmates to hear their complaints and seek feedback on the facilities being provided. He also inspected the jail kitchen, reviewed the quality of food served to prisoners and examined sanitation arrangements within the premises.

The DIG assessed security protocols at the prison’s entry and exit points, including the screening of goods brought into the facility and directed the jail administration to maintain strict security while ensuring quality food, healthcare and improved living conditions for inmates.

District Jail Shahpur Superintendent, Abubakar Abdullah and other officials briefed the DIG on the prison’s operations, security measures and administrative affairs.

Gondal also visited the jail’s production unit, where he was apprised of its performance and inspected products manufactured by inmates under vocational training and rehabilitation programmes.

Khanewal: The district administration on Saturday issued an advance alert to deal with a possible flood situation. Deputy Commissioner Hina Arshad visited the breaching sections of Head Sidhnai and Mai Safoora Embankment. She took a detailed briefing from Irrigation Department officials on advance preparations to cope with the potential flood.

Additional Deputy Commissioner Revenue Fazal Abbas and Assistant Commissioner Muhammad Haroon accompanied her during the visit. The deputy commissioner inspected the breaching section of Mai Safoora Embankment and the flood embankment, reviewing safety measures and its strength. She also inspected the railway bridge located at Head Sidhnai.

She directed the Irrigation Department, Kabirwala tehsil administration, Rescue 1122, the Revenue Department and other concerned departments to remain fully activated.

Earlier, the deputy commissioner chaired a meeting on flood preparedness at Head Sidhnai and said all arrangements had been completed to deal with the situation. She directed that strengthening of flood embankments, complete removal of encroachments and safety arrangements be ensured in all circumstances.
