Khanewal: The district administration on Saturday issued an advance alert to deal with a possible flood situation. Deputy Commissioner Hina Arshad visited the breaching sections of Head Sidhnai and Mai Safoora Embankment. She took a detailed briefing from Irrigation Department officials on advance preparations to cope with the potential flood.
Additional Deputy Commissioner Revenue Fazal Abbas and Assistant Commissioner Muhammad Haroon accompanied her during the visit. The deputy commissioner inspected the breaching section of Mai Safoora Embankment and the flood embankment, reviewing safety measures and its strength. She also inspected the railway bridge located at Head Sidhnai.
She directed the Irrigation Department, Kabirwala tehsil administration, Rescue 1122, the Revenue Department and other concerned departments to remain fully activated.
Earlier, the deputy commissioner chaired a meeting on flood preparedness at Head Sidhnai and said all arrangements had been completed to deal with the situation. She directed that strengthening of flood embankments, complete removal of encroachments and safety arrangements be ensured in all circumstances.
