Peshawar: The Authorities concerned have expanded investigation into the missing of government property worth millions of rupees from the historic Shahi Bagh in Peshawar.

Fourteen employees have been questioned, while notices have also been issued to four scrap dealers seeking records related to the case.

According to sources on Monday, the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government has taken serious notice of repeated reports of theft and the disappearance of valuable government assets from the park. The Local Government Department has requested a detailed report from the Metropolitan Administration to determine responsibility.

The inquiry gained momentum after the reported disappearance of playground swings worth millions of rupees. Investigators are questioning 14 employees who were assigned to day and night shifts, while the role of others under suspicion is also being examined.

As part of the investigation, authorities have expanded the probe beyond park staff. Four scrap dealers have been served notices and asked to provide purchase and sales records to help trace the missing items.

To prevent similar incidents in future, the Metropolitan Administration has decided to install modern CCTV surveillance cameras at various locations across Shahi Bagh.

Officials said the enhanced security system will strengthen the protection and monitoring of government property.

Dera ismail khan: Acting on the directives of Assistant Commissioner Paharpur Shahab Ahmad Khan, Tehsildar Paharpur Jalil Ahmad Khan launched a crackdown against retailers allegedly involved in making illegal deductions from payments disbursed under the Benazir Income Support Programme (BISP).

During the operation, raids were conducted in Kirri Khaisor, Jhok Wains, Madi Khel and Hafizabad, where authorities inspected BISP payment points following complaints regarding unauthorized deductions from beneficiaries’ financial assistance.

According to official sources, evidence of illegal deductions was found during the inspections. As a result, four retailer payment devices were taken into official custody.

The administration has also decided to register First Information Reports (FIRs) against the individuals found involved in the malpractice.

Officials reiterated that the district administration is committed to ensuring that BISP beneficiaries receive their full financial assistance without any unlawful deductions and warned that strict legal action would continue against anyone exploiting deserving recipients.

Rawalpindi: The government school students have developed an artificial intelligence-based assistive robot named the “CM Maryam Nawaz Sahara Robot” to assist paralyzed and specially-abled individuals.

According to the details, the advanced assistive robot is engineered to decode eye movements, enabling patients facing speech or mobility constraints due to physical disabilities or paralysis to communicate their needs and desires.

Beyond communication support, the robot is capable of delivering medicines and food to patients according to healthcare providers’ instructions. This automated functionality is expected to reduce the workload of nursing staff in medical facilities, rehabilitation centers, and home care environments.

According to educational experts, this project underscores the capabilities of Pakistani youth in adopting modern scientific disciplines, including artificial intelligence and robotics.

The conceptualization, innovation, and implementation of the project were led under the guidance of Maryam Fatima, a prominent STEM expert from the Innovation and Robotics Lab. Under her supervision, the students developed the model to introduce technology-driven solutions into the healthcare sector.

Academics noted that the integration of artificial intelligence and robotics is expanding globally, and such localized innovations could pave the way for technological advancement while enhancing the quality of life for specially-abled individuals in Pakistan. They also admired Education Minister Rana Sikandar Hayat under the patronage of whom the innovation techniques and trends, like the robotics and AI are being introduced at early education level.

Peshawar: At least eight people were injured in separate roof and wall collapse incidents reported in different parts of Peshawar on Monday, according to Rescue officials quoted by tv channels.

Rescue sources said the incidents occurred at multiple locations across the city, leaving eight people injured.

Rescue teams responded promptly after receiving information and shifted the injured to nearby hospitals for medical treatment.

Authorities are assessing the circumstances surrounding the incidents.

Peshawar: The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Police have established an integrated and advanced security system to ensure the safety of Chinese nationals and other foreign experts residing and working in the province.

According to police officials, the Special Security Unit (SSU) has set up its first modern Command and Control Room, while the unit’s first dedicated security contingent has been deployed at Bacha Khan International Airport. The personnel will provide round-the-clock security services for foreign nationals arriving in the province.

Officials said the deployed officers have also completed a specialized Chinese language course to facilitate effective communication and assistance for Chinese citizens.

The police further stated that a comprehensive 28-point security plan has been developed to ensure the safe movement of Chinese nationals and other foreign experts across the province. In coordination with federal agencies, detailed Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) have also been formulated for access to development projects and secure transportation.

The Central Command and Control Unit will monitor security convoys from departure to destination, while a computerized communication system will provide real-time information to all districts.

The Command and Control Room will continuously track convoy movements through live location monitoring. Chinese nationals will also be provided with a dedicated emergency contact number for immediate assistance in case of any emergency.

Police officials said the Command and Control Room will remain operational at all times to ensure a swift response to any untoward incident and to guarantee the security of foreign nationals, particularly Chinese citizens, throughout the province.

Attock: The District Administration Attock organized a dignified farewell ceremony at the Gymkhana Club in honor of the outgoing Deputy Commissioner, Rao Atif Raza, and Additional Deputy Commissioner (Revenue), Waqas Aslam Marth.

The event was attended by a large number of political leaders, senior government officials, members of the business community, social representatives, and citizens from across the district, who paid tribute to the services rendered by both officers.

Speakers appreciated Rao Atif Raza for his commitment to public service, transparency, merit, the rule of law, and the timely completion of development projects during his tenure. These included the establishment of a modern Thalassemia Centre for children, the provision of approximately 25 dialysis machines to improve kidney treatment facilities, and the establishment of the District Public Complex comprising a modern school, college, IT Centre, Research Centre, Language Centre, and sports facilities. Work on Attock’s first Nursing College was also noted as a major milestone in strengthening healthcare education.

Other projects included the restoration of the historic Rest House built in 1924, urban beautification, cleanliness, green belts, parks, and the ongoing establishment of a specialized complex for the treatment and rehabilitation of individuals with mental illnesses.

As part of the farewell engagements, Deputy Commissioner Rao Atif Raza also met representatives of the Safi community. He thanked them for their cooperation with the district administration throughout his tenure and acknowledged their positive role in promoting peace, social harmony, development initiatives, and public service.

Representatives of the Safi community, in turn, paid tribute to his services and extended their best wishes for his future assignments. At the conclusion, commemorative shields and souvenirs were presented to Rao Atif Raza and Waqas Aslam Marth, with participants expressing best wishes for both officers in their future responsibilities.
