Bahawalpur: Divisional Commissioner Irfan Ali Kathia has urged the officials and stakeholders concerned to ensure timely completion of sports projects. According to a news release issued here on Sunday, the Commissioner visited the Sports Complex here in the city to review its sports facilities, infrastructure, and administrative affairs in detail. During the visit, he directed the officials concerned to ensure the provision of world-class sports facilities, the timely completion of ongoing development project, and the effective utilization of available resources so that young people had ample opportunities to develop and showcase their sporting talent. Authorities concerned gave the Commissioner a detailed briefing on the Sports Complex development project, the facilities available for various sports, construction progress, and future planning.

While inspecting different sections of the Sports Complex, Kathia directed that all development projects be completed according to the prescribed quality standards and within the stipulated timelines. He said the Punjab government was giving special attention to promoting sports among youth, encouraging healthy recreational activities, and developing modern sports infrastructure. He stressed that the Sports Complex should be made fully functional, secure, and equipped with high-quality facilities. The Commissioner further remarked that sports play a fundamental role in the positive development of young people, their physical well-being, and the creation of a healthy society. He directed the relevant departments to ensure that athletes and visitors were provided with the best possible facilities, while maintaining high standards of cleanliness, maintenance, security, and overall management.

Dera ismail khan : The Peshawar Electric Supply Company (PESCO) launched a grand anti-power theft operation in Dera Ismail Khan and removed 23 illegal direct electricity connections (kundas) in an effort to curb power theft and reduce feeder tripping.

The operation was conducted on the 11kV CRBC feeder under the special directives of PESCO Dera Circle Superintending Engineer Hizbullah Khan Mehsud and under the supervision of Acting Executive Engineer (Rural Division) Engineer Sanaullah Khan.

The raid was led by SDO Mandhran Sub-Division Engineer Irfanullah Khan, accompanied by Line Superintendent Sajjad Ahmad Marwat, Recovery In-charge Jahanzeb Khan, and other PESCO officials.

During the operation in Khawaj Khel Town, the team disconnected 23 illegal direct power connections and removed two low-tension (LT) wires that were being used for unauthorized electricity supply.

PESCO officials said that references had been forwarded to the Cantt Police Station for the registration of cases against those involved in electricity theft in accordance with the law.

Speaking on the occasion, Engineer Irfanullah Khan said the company would continue indiscriminate operations against power theft to reduce line losses, improve the reliability of the power distribution system and ensure better electricity supply to genuine consumers.

He urged consumers to obtain legal electricity connections instead of resorting to illegal means and called upon the public to help protect national resources by reporting incidents of electricity theft.

Rawalpindi: In a shocking incident, two men were drowned in a mini dam near Jani Mor, RVS Society, on Adiala Road in Rawalpindi on Sunday, Rescue 1122 spokesperson said that three emergency response vehicles were dispatched to the scene immediately after receiving reports of the incident.

Rescue teams successfully recovered both bodies from the water and initiated cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) efforts while shifting them to a medical facility.

Authorities have not yet released the identities of the victims.

Further details regarding the circumstances leading to the drowning are still awaited.

Quetta: Advisor to the Balochistan Home Department Babar Yousafzai has lauded the timely and coordinated operation by police and law enforcement agencies near Dhor Chowk, Gwadar, which led to the arrest of two terrorists. He described the action as a testament to the professional skills and bravery of the security forces.

Babar Yousafzai praised the police and law enforcement agencies for their successful pursuit of terrorists who had fled after attacking a police mobile, noting that their capture demonstrated courage, professional expertise, and immediate response.

He emphasized that such indiscriminate actions against terrorists will further strengthen the writ of the state.

He added that important revelations are expected from the arrested terrorists, and expanding the scope of investigations will help trace facilitators and dismantle networks. Yousafzai stressed that intelligence-based operations against terrorist elements must continue across Balochistan, with no room for leniency toward anti-state actors.

The successful operation in Gwadar, he said, sends a clear message that police and law enforcement agencies remain fully prepared to protect the lives and property of citizens and to eradicate terrorism.

Bahawalpur: Ishtiaq Ahmad has assumed the charge of Chairman, Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education (BISE) Bahawalpur with immediate effect. According to official sources, Services and General Administration Department, Government of the Punjab had notified posting of senior official, Ishtiaq Ahmad as Chairman, Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education (BISE) Bahawalpur. He was directed to assume charge of his new office immediately. Earlier, he had been performing his service as Director, Information Technology, University of Sargodha.

Rawalpindi: Police have completed a large-scale operation to apprehend 14 detainees who escaped from a prison van, successfully arresting all of them.

According to a police spokesperson, the final fugitive, identified as Asad, has also been taken into custody, bringing the search operation to a close.

Police said special teams were formed immediately after the escape to track down the fugitives.

Within 72 hours, 13 of the 14 escapees had already been arrested, while efforts continued to locate the remaining suspect.

With the arrest of the last fugitive, the operation has officially concluded.

Due to the best strategic planning of senior police officers, all escapees were recaptured within a short period and without any untoward incident, the spokesperson added.
