Islamabad: FGEHA has announced that construction work on the project is expected to resume by the end of this month or in early August, following approval from its upcoming Board meeting.

Talking to reporter , FGEHA Director Staff Faiz Umer said two apartment projects for government employees are currently under development in Sector G-13. He said construction work on the Kashmir Heights Apartment Project will resume from July 7, adding that all necessary arrangements have already been finalized.

He further said that all formalities regarding the second apartment project in G-13/1, which was previously being executed by M/s EHFPRO (Private) Limited, are in their final stages.

According to him, once the FGEHA Board grants formal approval in its upcoming meeting, construction activities on the project will resume by the end of July or in early August.

Islamabad: Speaker of National Assembly Sardar Ayaz Sadiq has taken strong notice of the misuse of the name of the National Assembly Secretariat through a forged appointment/offer letter and the alleged misuse of the official status of the National Assembly.

It has come to the notice of the National Assembly Secretariat that a person namely Abdul Wajid, a resident of district Ghotki, falsely represented himself as a Grade-17 employee of the National Assembly and used a forged appointment letter issued in the name of the National Assembly Secretariat, which also bore forged signatures of the Speaker National Assembly.

According to reports, the said individual not only misled government officials and police authorities by claiming this fake status and allegedly obtained undue privileges and protocol, but was also reportedly involved in harassing and pressuring citizens through various means, causing concern and unrest among the public.

The National Assembly Secretariat clarifies that Abdul Wajid has no connection whatsoever with the National Assembly Secretariat, and there is no record of his appointment or employment in the National Assembly. The appointment letter being used by him is completely fake and has no legal or official standing.

On the directions of Sardar Ayaz Sadiq, Acting Secretary National Assembly has written formal letters to the Director General Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) and the Inspector General of Sindh Police, requesting initiation of legal proceedings against Abdul Wajid, tracing the origin of the forged appointment letter, identifying those involved in this matter, and taking strict legal action against all responsible persons under the relevant laws.

On the complaint of the National Assembly Secretariat, FIA took prompt action and arrested the accused person. Legal proceedings against him are underway, while investigations are also in progress to trace the source of the forged appointment letter and identify any other individuals involved in the offence.

The National Assembly Secretariat further said that preparing or using forged documents in the name of the National Assembly Secretariat, the Speaker National Assembly, or any official authority, or obtaining any form of illegal protocol, benefits, or advantages on this basis, is a serious and punishable offence. Strict legal action will be taken against such elements without any discrimination.

The Secretariat also urges the public and all government institutions to verify the authenticity of any appointment letter, offer letter, or official document purportedly issued by the National Assembly Secretariat from the concerned authorities, and to immediately report any suspicious activity or forged document to the relevant law enforcement agencies to discourage misuse of the name of state institutions.

Islamabad: President Asif Ali Zardari, Saturday, expressed his profound grief and sorrow over the demise of former member of the National Assembly and senior Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) leader Fauzia Habib.

In a condolence message, the president paid tribute to the late Fauzia Habib’s dedicated services to the Pakistan Peoples Party and the nation, adding she rendered valuable contributions to democracy, public service, and the PPP.

The president recalled that Fauzia Habib also served as a member of the staff at Aiwan-e-Sadr during his first presidential term from 2008 to 2013, President Secretariat Media Wing said in a press release.

Describing her death as an irreparable loss to the Pakistan Peoples Party, he prayed for the elevation of the departed soul’s ranks in Jannah and extended his heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family.

Islamabad: All Parties Hurriyat Conference Azad Jammu and Kashmir (APHC-AJK) chapter Convener Ghulam Muhammad Safi said Kashmir and Palestine are united by a common struggle, alleging that both have suffered decades of oppression, state repression and human rights violations.

Ghulam Muhammad Safi said the Palestinian struggle has emerged as a powerful source of inspiration and resilience for the people of Kashmir, strengthening their resolve and determination in their own ongoing movement.

Safi noted that the ‘unparalleled perseverance, sacrifices, and resistance’ of the Palestinian people have further strengthened Kashmiri determination to continue their struggle for the right to self-determination.

He added that both Kashmiris and Palestinians continue to draw motivation from each other’ s ongoing struggles against illegal occupation and for their respective rights.

Ghulam Muhammad Safi said India is attempting to suppress the voice of the Kashmiri people in occupied Jammu and Kashmir through force but asserted that the freedom movement cannot be ended through military power, oppression, or coercion.

He said the people of Kashmir will never forget the sacrifices of their martyrs and will continue their peaceful struggle until they achieve their right to self-determination.

Calling for urgent attention from the international community, Safi said serious human rights violations, attacks on civilians, illegal arrests and other abuses are continuing in Kashmir and Palestine.

He urged global powers to play an effective role in ensuring implementation of UN resolutions and international laws.

He added that the Kashmiri people remain committed to their cause and will continue their struggle with resilience until their rights are fully realized.

Islamabad: Chairman Senate of Pakistan, Syed Yousaf Raza Gilani, met with the Speaker of the Islamic Consultative Assembly of Iran, Dr Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf, in Tehran.

The meeting featured a comprehensive exchange of views on Pakistan-Iran bilateral relations, parliamentary cooperation, regional peace and stability, challenges facing the Muslim Ummah, and the promotion of global peace.

During the meeting, Chairman Senate expressed his heartfelt condolences to the Government, Parliament, and people of Iran on the martyrdom of the Supreme Leader.

He reaffirmed Pakistan’s solidarity with the brotherly nation during this difficult time and stated that peace, stability, and prosperity are essential for lasting peace and development across the region.

Chairman Senate Syed Yousaf Raza Gilani said that Pakistan and Iran are bound by deep-rooted historical, religious, cultural, and fraternal ties, which should be further strengthened through enhanced cooperation.

He emphasized the importance of expanding parliamentary exchanges, economic collaboration, trade, and people-to-people contacts between the two countries.

Speaker of the Iranian Parliament, Dr Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf, appreciated Pakistan’s steadfast support and solidarity during Iran’s difficult times.

He remarked that Pakistan has consistently proven to be a sincere and reliable friend of Iran in times of trial and that the Iranian leadership and people hold Pakistan and its people in the highest esteem.

Both leaders reaffirmed their commitment to further strengthening Pakistan-Iran relations and enhancing cooperation for regional peace, stability, prosperity, and the promotion of global peace through sustained bilateral engagement.

Islamabad: Pakistan’s efforts to combat illegal migration received international recognition at the high-level meeting of the Global Alliance to Counter Migrant Smuggling in Vienna, where the European Union commended the country’s effective measures that have significantly reduced irregular migration.

Addressing the conference, Minister of State for Interior Talal Chaudhry said Pakistan’s strategy against illegal migration had become a model for other countries.

He attributed the success to the policies and coordinated efforts led by Prime Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif and Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi, stating that illegal migration had declined by 47 percent under their leadership.

Chaudhry described irregular migration as a global challenge that extends beyond national borders and stressed that no country can address the issue in isolation.

He called for stronger international cooperation, saying joint strategies are essential to dismantle migrant smuggling networks and curb human trafficking.

He emphasized that expanding opportunities for legal migration has become an urgent necessity, adding that sustainable solutions require countries to create safe, orderly and regular migration pathways. Without promoting lawful migration, he said, effectively preventing illegal migration would remain difficult.

The minister also highlighted the importance of modern technology, intelligence sharing and coordinated international action in combating human smuggling, describing these tools as critical to addressing increasingly sophisticated criminal networks.

Participants at the Global Alliance meeting also praised the performance of Pakistan’s Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) for its role in tackling illegal migration and disrupting human smuggling operations, recognizing the agency’s contribution to the country’s broader enforcement strategy.

The meeting brought together international stakeholders to strengthen cooperation against migrant smuggling and promote coordinated responses to one of the world’s most pressing cross-border challenges.
