Quetta: Khuzdar, Deputy Commissioner Khuzdar, Abdul Razzaq Sasoli on Monday chaired an important meeting at the DC Office to review sanitation and hygiene standards across all government hospitals, private hospitals, clinics, and medical centers in the district.

The meeting assessed cleanliness arrangements, waste management, infection prevention and control (IPC) measures, legal compliance, and facilities provided to patients. To ensure strict monitoring, the Deputy Commissioner formed a committee headed by District Health Officer Dr. Abdul Hameed Lehri and Assistant Commissioner Nal.

Other members include Chief Officer Municipal Corporation Khuzdar Wadera Muhammad Saleh Jamot and Medical Superintendent Civil Hospital Khuzdar Dr. Shabbir Ahmed Baloch. The committee will conduct daily inspections of health and sanitation standards.

Addressing the meeting, DC Sasoli said that the Government of Balochistan is paying special attention to providing better healthcare facilities to the public. He emphasized that the administration’s foremost priority is to deliver quality medical services, promote humanitarian and welfare initiatives, and provide maximum relief to vulnerable segments of society.

He issued strict instructions to private hospitals, clinics, and laboratories to dispose of their medical waste at the incinerator located in Teaching Hospital Khuzdar, warning of stern legal action against violators.

Reaffirming the administration’s commitment, Sasoli said: ‘Khuzdar district will continue such measures to safeguard public health, welfare, and humanitarian service. These efforts will remain consistent to ensure a cleaner, safer, and healthier environment for patients and citizens alike. ‘

Quetta: The Regional Meteorological Center Quetta, has forecast persistent hot conditions across most districts of Balochistan, while rain, wind, and thunderstorms are expected in northern areas.

According to the Regional Meteorological Center Quetta, very hot weather will prevail in Nokkundi, Washuk, Dalbandin, Kharan, Noshki, Pishin, Panjgur, Kech, Awaran, Sibi, Usta Muhammad, Naseerabad, and Jhal Magsi.

Meanwhile, partly cloudy skies accompanied by rain, wind, and thunderstorms are likely at isolated places in Zhob, Sherani, Barkhan, Musakhail, Duki, Loralai, Harnai, Killa Saifullah, Kohlu, and Khuzdar, as well as adjoining areas. Officials have cautioned that strong gusty winds may occur in most parts of the province during the forecast period.

The maximum temperature recorded was 44. 5°C in Nokkundi, while Barkhan registered the minimum at 30. 0°C. Authorities have advised residents to take precautions against extreme heat, while travelers in northern districts should remain alert for sudden rain and thunderstorms.

Quetta: Commissioner Quetta Division, Shahzaib Khan Kakar, chaired a meeting to address issues related to rents, arrears, and management of shops and kiosks under the Metropolitan Corporation.

The session was attended by Deputy Commissioner Quetta Mehrullah Badini, Additional Commissioner Agha Samiullah, Assistant Commissioner (Revenue) Syed Kaleemullah, President of Anjuman Tajran Rahim Kakar, and senior officials of the Metropolitan Corporation.

Officials briefed the meeting that approximately 90 kiosks are under the Corporation’s management, of which 42 owners have begun paying their rents and dues, while the remaining tenants still owe arrears dating back to 2021.

The meeting resolved that government-fixed rents must be paid regularly, with a mandatory annual 10 percent increase as per existing agreements.

Commissioner Shahzaib Kakar directed that tenants be facilitated by allowing arrears to be paid in installments rather than in a lump sum, making it easier for them to clear outstanding dues. However, he stressed that rent payments are compulsory under the agreements. He instructed all shopkeepers and kiosk owners to prepare a workable schedule within one week to ensure both monthly rent and arrears are paid consistently. He warned that failure to comply within the stipulated time would result in legal action under relevant laws.

The meeting also discussed the issue of illegal stalls set up in front of kiosks, with some owners renting them out to others. Commissioner Kakar declared this practice a violation of rules and directed authorities to remove all unauthorized stalls, ensuring government property is used strictly in accordance with regulations.

Participants agreed that strict measures will be taken to ensure transparent management of municipal properties, regular rent collection, and settlement of arrears.

The Commissioner emphasized that the administration is committed to safeguarding public assets and ensuring fair use of government property.

Quetta: Chief Minister Balochistan, Mir Sarfraz Bugti, on Monday said that the province, with its rich natural resources, strategic geographical importance, and economic potential, possesses immense capacity for growth.

He emphasized that these strengths would be fully utilized to promote investment, industry, and trade.

The Chief Minister was presiding over a meeting of the Board of Directors of the Balochistan Board of Investment and Trade (BBoIT) held at the Chief Minister’s Secretariat on Monday. The meeting was attended by Chief Secretary Balochistan Shakeel Qadir Khan, Additional Chief Secretary (Development and Planning) Zahid Saleem, Vice Chairman BBoIT Bilawal Khan Kakar, Chief Executive Officer Qaim Khan Lashari, Principal Secretary Imran Zarkoon, and other senior officials.

During the session, various agendas of the Board were discussed in detail, and the Board of Governors approved several financial and administrative matters. Addressing the meeting, Chief Minister Sarfraz Bugti said that promoting investment and expanding trade opportunities were among the government’s top priorities. He directed all relevant institutions to work in close coordination to provide investors with a transparent, business-friendly environment.

Sarfraz Bugti highlighted that Balochistan’s natural wealth and strategic location make it a province of extraordinary potential. He instructed the BBoIT to take effective measures to facilitate investors, simplify investment processes, and strengthen the confidence of the private sector.

Reaffirming the government’s commitment, the Chief Minister said that Balochistan would continue to take all possible steps to encourage investment, create new employment opportunities, and achieve sustainable economic development.

Quetta: Balochistan Police carried out multiple operations across the province, resulting in arrests and recoveries of stolen motorcycles.

Acting on the directives of DIG Makran Range Imran Qureshi, Jiwni City Police apprehended three suspects involved in motorcycle theft. The arrested individuals, identified as Junaid, Sudheer, and Rehman, were taken into custody during a targeted operation.

Police recovered one stolen 125cc motorcycle during the initial raid, while two more stolen motorcycles were later recovered based on the suspects’ information. Authorities confirmed that further investigation is underway, with expectations of additional disclosures and recoveries. Gwadar Police reiterated that indiscriminate action against criminal elements will continue to ensure public safety and maintain law and order in the region.

In a separate operation, Khaliqabad Police arrested a suspect wanted in the murder of a seven-year-old boy. According to police, on July 19, 2026, Muhammad Muawiya, son of Ali Ahmed, was allegedly killed by his uncle, Sher Ahmed, in Korki Adamzai.

Following registration of the case, police launched a manhunt. Acting on secret information and under the instructions of SSP Kalat Syed Zahid Hussain Shah, police arrested the accused, Sher Ahmed, a resident of Korki Khaliqabad. The suspect has been taken into custody for further investigation, with police confirming that all aspects of the case are being thoroughly examined.

Quetta: Secretary Women Development Saira Atta on Monday said that incumbent government was taking steps in collaboration with relevant institutions to protect the rights of women, and their empowerment.

She expressed these views while addressing at an inaugural ceremony of the ‘Provincial Media Fellowship Program’ organized by the Department of Women Development, Government of Balochistan, in collaboration with Balochistan University of Information Technology, Engineering and Management Sciences (BUITEMS), Strengthening Participatory Organization (SPO) and the United Nations agency UNFPA, at the Pink Hall of BUITEMS.

Speaking on the occasion, Secretary Women Development, Saira Atta said that media was an effective tool for bringing positive change in the society, responsible reporting of sensitive issues related to gender-based violence (GBV), child marriage and women and children was the need of the hour.

She said that the Balochistan government was taking practical steps in collaboration with all relevant institutions to protect the rights of women, empower them and create a safe society.

She said media fellowship program would enhance the professional skills of journalists, which could enable them to play an effective role in raising public awareness through factual, balanced and sensitive reporting.

Addressing the ceremony, Vice Chancellor, BUITEMS, Prof. Dr. Khalid Hafeez said that universities were not limited to education alone but also play a key role in social betterment and national development. He said that BUITEMS would continue to provide all possible support to equip young journalists and media professionals with modern research, training and practical skills.

He said that responsible media reporting not only promoted positive thinking in society but also played an important role in protecting the rights of women and children, social justice and achieving sustainable development goals.

He termed this joint initiative as an important milestone towards further improving the quality of journalism in Balochistan, he informed the participants of the program that important departments of BS Forensic Sciences and BS Public Health had also been started in BUITEMS.

Speaking at the ceremony, Director Public Relations Saeed Shahwani informed the participants in detail about the role of media.

Government officials, media representatives, teachers, students and people from different walks of life participated in the ceremony in large numbers.

At the end, commemorative shields were distributed among the participants.
