Quetta: Balochistan Chief Minister Mir Sarfraz Bugti on Friday took strict notice of the tragic coal mine accident in Surranj and sought an immediate report from the Mines and Minerals Department.

He also expressed deep sorrow and grief over the accident and extended his heartfelt sympathy and condolences to the families of the deceased miners.

He prayed that Allah Almighty may forgive the deceased, grant them a high position in His mercy and grant patience to the bereaved families.

Mir Sarfraz Bugti directed the Mines and Minerals Department to conduct a complete, transparent and impartial inquiry into the incident to determine the causes of the accident and submit a detailed report immediately.

He clarified that if any negligence or violation of safety regulations is found during the investigation, strict action will be taken against those responsible as per the law.

The Chief Minister directed that all necessary steps be taken to provide all possible assistance to the affected families.

He said that the protection of the lives of miners is the top priority of the government and strict implementation of safety standards and mining laws should be ensured in coal mines across the province.

Chief Minister reiterated the resolve that no compromise would be made on the protection of human lives and effective steps would be taken to prevent such tragic incidents in the future.

Quetta: Balochistan Chief Minister, Mir Sarfraz Bugti on Friday announced the full functioning of the blood bank at Mir Ghulam Qadir Bugti Memorial Hospital (MGQBMH) in Dera Bugti, calling it an important milestone in the health sector for the people of the district.

He said that the activation of the blood bank would enable timely, safe and quality blood supply to patients, which would help save precious human lives and effectively deal with emergency medical situations. The Balochistan Chief Minister said in his message on the social networking site, “Alhamdulillah! another important milestone has been crossed for the people of Dera Bugti, I am very happy to announce that the blood bank at Mir Ghulam Qadir Bugti Memorial Hospital is now fully functional.”

The CM said this was not just a new medical facility but a vital step towards serving humanity, which would ensure timely and safe blood supply to needy patients and would help in saving countless precious lives. Mir Sarfraz Bugti said that this moment was of special importance for him because another basic facility has been added to this hospital established in the memory of his late father Mir Ghulam Qadir Bugti for public service.

He said that it has always been his effort to provide health, education and other basic facilities to the people of Dera Bugti at their doorsteps and the establishment of the blood bank was a practical embodiment of this vision.

The Chief Minister of Balochistan appreciated the services of the doctors, medical staff, health department, related institutions and all the supporting persons who played a role in the completion of this project and expressed his heartfelt gratitude to them.

He said that such projects for the welfare of the people were among the top priorities of the Balochistan government and practical steps would be taken to improve the health sector.

Chief Minister prayed that Allah Almighty might accept these efforts, make this institution always a source of service to humanity and grant the government the ability to serve the people further.

Quetta: Deputy Chairman Senate Syedal Khan Nasir on Friday said that the services of the Kashmiri people living in Balochistan for the development and prosperity of the province are not hidden from anyone.

He said that all possible steps would be taken to resolve the problems being faced by the Kashmiri people, Balochistan is a common home for all of us, for the construction and development of which we would have to work together.

He said this while talking to various delegations called on him here.

Kashmiris living in Balochistan were also among the delegations. The delegations included Tariq Butt Advocate, Javed Ahmed Khan, Jahangir Khan Kharoti, Sameera Khan, Mir Zaman Lehri, Mir Liaquat, Liaquat Rajput and others.

During the meetings, the overall political situation of the country, federal development projects underway in the province, and other issues were discussed.

The delegations informed Deputy Chairman Senate Syedal Khan Nasir about the problems being faced by the people in detail, on which the Deputy Chairman assured to resolve the issues.

Deputy Chairman Senate Syedal Khan Nasir said that Pakistan has always fully supported the right of the Kashmiri people to self-determination and openly condemned the Indian atrocities on the Kashmiris.

He said that Pakistan would continue to support the Kashmiri people in the future saying that the Kashmiri people have been living in Balochistan like brothers for centuries and their services for the development and prosperity of the province are not hidden from anyone.

He said that Balochistan is the common home of all the nations living here, whose development and prosperity is the responsibility of all of us, every possible effort would be made to resolve the problems faced by the Kashmiri people living in Quetta and other areas of Balochistan.

During the meeting, the coordinators of the Deputy Chairman Senate informed Deputy Chairman Senate Syedal Khan Nasir in detail about their performance in one month and the resolution of the problems of the people of the province.

Syedal Khan Nasir said that in order to maintain close contact with the people, he has appointed coordinators so that they could find out the problems of the people and convey them to him and practical steps would be taken to solve these problems.

Quetta: Balochistan Chief Minister Mir Sarfaraz Bugti on Friday said that the state is keeping its doors open for those who want to give up arms and join the national mainstream and there is a comprehensive plan for their rehabilitation, education, employment and social integration.

He said that the blood of the brave security forces would not go in vain for the stability of the state. Under an organized conspiracy, where on the one hand, terrorist incidents occur to destabilize the state, the blame is also placed on the state and propaganda is being spread to spread chaos.

He expressed these views while addressing the passing out parade of the 20th training course at the Anti-Terrorist Force (ATF) Training School in Quetta.

Inspector General of Police Balochistan Muhammad Tahir Khan and Commandant ATF Asad Khan also addressed the ceremony, while earlier, ATF personnel presented a brilliant demonstration of professional training, combat skills and operational capabilities in counter-terrorism.

He said that the youth are being pushed towards a futile war, every conspiracy to destabilize Balochistan and Pakistan would be foiled, those who want to divide the country live in a fool’s paradise, the state could not back down even an inch against terrorism.

He urged political parties not to link terrorism with politics because at this time the state would not need politics but stability of the state, national unity and solidarity of the people.

Mir Sarfraz Bugti said that Balochistan Police, ATF, CTD and Special Operations Wing are playing a frontline role in the war against terrorism and the government is shaping these forces into a stronger, more modern and effective striking force.

He said that these forces would be provided with modern weapons, equipment, training and all necessary resources so that they could effectively eradicate the scourge of terrorism.

He paid special tribute to the three women constables who joined the ATF and said that the daughters of Balochistan are moving forward alongside their brothers for peace, rule of law and defense of the homeland, which is a source of pride for the entire society and a beacon for other young women.

Mir Sarfraz Bugti said that the sacrifices of the martyrs in the war against terrorism are the nation’s capital and their sacred blood would never go in vain.

He said that terrorist elements wanted to halt Balochistan from its journey of development, education and prosperity, but with the unity of the government, security forces and the people, all their nefarious intentions would be thwarted.

The Chief Minister urged to political parties not to sacrifice a national issue like terrorism for political differences.

He said that the police and security personnel who serve in extreme heat, cold and difficult conditions to protect the homeland are heroes of the entire nation, linking their sacrifices with politics is against the national interest.

He said that the Baloch youth have been pushed into a futile war which has only brought them unrest, backwardness, deprivation of education and development opportunities.

The Chief Minister made it clear that if someone wants to impose his ideology at the power of a gun, he would not succeed, saying that the government, Balochistan Police and law enforcement agencies will never surrender in the face of terrorism, violence and brutality and would not retreat even an inch in this war.

Mir Sarfraz announced that the salaries and benefits of ATF, CTD and SOW personnel would be increased, while the Balochistan government could also take the responsibility of providing further assistance to the families of the martyrs and supporting the children.

He also announced a grant of Rs. 150 million for the improvement of the infrastructure of the ATF Training School, an increase in the basic salaries of trainers and a review of feeding charges, and said that the government will provide all possible resources to increase the capacity of the police force and provide them with modern facilities.

The Chief Minister, while congratulating the passing-out soldiers, expressed the hope that they would perform their duties with complete honesty, professionalism and bravery to protect the people, the province and the national flag without fear and danger and play their effective role in ensuring the establishment of peace in the war against terrorism.

Quetta: Casualties in coal mine explosion caused by poisonous gas here in Spain Kariz Surranj has reached 34 while the rescue operation was still ongoing to evacuate any more trapped workers.

According to the data released by the Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) Balochistan, rescue teams have so far recovered the bodies of 34 miners from the mine in the rescue operations after the coal mine accident that occurred in Surranj, while rescue teams are continuously engaged in searching any more affectees trapped due to the accident.

According to officials, the explosion occurred due to the filling of toxic gas in the coal mine, as a result of which a part of the mine collapsed and several miners were buried under the debris.

Rescue teams are continuously working to remove debris from the mine with the help of heavy machinery and special equipment.

Official authorities said that the rescue operation would continue until all the affected miners would be pulled out of the mine.

During the rescue operations, the rescue personnel were carrying out operations with utmost caution due to the toxic gas and other hazards present inside the mine.

On the other hand, the Chief Minister of Balochistan, taking notice of the Surranj coal mine accident, has sought a report on the incident from the Mines and Minerals Department, and also directed the concerned authorities have also been directed to further expedite the rescue operations and provide all possible assistance to the affected miners.

According to sources, arrangements were being made to send the bodies of the deceased miners to their native areas after necessary procedures, while the affected families were also being kept informed of the situation.

Quetta: Assistant to Chief Minister Balochistan for Information and Political Affairs, Shahid Rind on Friday said that Balochistan Chief Minister, Mir Sarfraz Bugti has announced a financial assistance of Rs 500,000 each for the families of the miners who died in the tragic coal mine accident here in Surranj area.

Shahid Rind said that all necessary arrangements had been completed to transport the bodies of the deceased miners to their native areas in a dignified manner and to provide all facilities to the affected families.

He said that teams of the Mines and Minerals Department, Provincial Disaster Management Authority ( PDMA) Rescue 1122 and other relevant agencies were engaged in rescue and relief activities with full vigilance at the accident site and all relevant agencies were continuously monitoring the situation through mutual communication.

Shahid Rind said that the Balochistan government shared the grief of the bereaved families over this tragic incident and all possible support and facilities would be provided to the affected families. He said that Balochistan Chief Minister, Mir Sarfraz Bugti has directed the concerned authorities not to make any negligence in the relief activities and to ensure immediate assistance to the affected families.

According to the authorities, the rescue teams were using all possible resources to search for the remaining miners trapped in the mine and the rescue operations were being continuously monitored.
