Lahore: As many as 256 government schools across Punjab are being converted to solar energy in a phased manner.
School Education Department sources told reporter that under the project, solar systems will be provided to higher secondary schools so that educational activities can continue without interruption.
In this connection, 15 government schools in Lahore have been included in the first phase of this project.
According to sources, the total generation capacity of the solar project will be 5,515 kilowatts.
The project is estimated to cost about Rs700 million.
