Karachi: Pak Colony police station of district Keamari conducted a search operation against drug peddlers in the Old Golimar area, during which eight suspects were arrested, including two who were injured in an exchange of fire.
According to SSP Keamari Amjad Ahmed Sheikh on Monday, police raided several drug dens during the operation. The suspects opened heavy fire on the police team, to which police responded, resulting in the arrest of eight drug peddlers.
Police recovered drugs worth millions of rupees, including ice and Tanzania crystal, along with illegal weapons and cash from the suspects. The injured suspects were identified as Ashraf and Ghulam Nabi, while the others were named Zeeshan, Danish, Noor, Salman, Sheeraz Rasool, and Sheeraz Aijaz.
The SSP said the criminal record of the arrested suspects has also been obtained, revealing that more than 25 cases related to narcotics and illegal weapons have been registered against them in the past. Further investigation is underway, and legal proceedings against the arrested suspects are in progress.
