Peshawar: A proclaimed offender, also wanted in martyrdom of late SHO Jameel Khan, was killed in a police encounter in Salman Khel area within the jurisdiction of Tajori Police Station, Lakki Marwat.
According to police on Sunday, Tajori Police encountered the wanted suspect, identified as Naseero, in Salman Khel, following which an exchange of fire took place between the two sides.
Police said the suspect was killed in the exchange of fire, while all police personnel remained safe.
Following the incident, a heavy contingent of police personnel, along with an APC, was called from Sarai Naurang to the area. Tajori SHO Imran and SI Zair Muhammad Betni, along with other police officials, remained at the scene.
The area was subsequently cordoned off and a search operation was launched. Police are also investigating the possible presence of other suspects and the escape of the deceased suspect’s accomplices.
