Lahore: An anti-terrorism court (ATC) on Tuesday extended the interim pre-arrest bail of PTI founder’s sisters, Aleema Khan and Uzma Khan, until November 6 in a case related to the October 5 protests and alleged violence against police.
ATC Judge Manzer Ali Gill passed the order after accepting a one-day exemption from personal appearance sought by the sisters’ counsel.
Aleema and Uzma did not appear before the court as their interim bail period expired. Their lawyers filed applications seeking exemption from appearance for one day, which the court accepted and subsequently extended their interim bail until November 6.
The court also directed the prosecution to produce the case record at the next hearing.
A case has been registered against Aleema and Uzma at Shafiqabad police station in connection with the October 5 protest and alleged violence against police personnel.
The sisters had approached the court for pre-arrest bail, apprehending their arrest in the case. They have been accused of allegedly inciting PTI workers to attack police during the October 5 protest.
