Sargodha: Anti-Corruption Establishment on Wednesday nabbed an assistant sub-inspector (ASI) for demanding bribe payments from a citizen in a police case in Factory Area police limits here on Wednesday.
According to the details, the case of a relative of the applicant named Muhammad Usman was registered in Police Station Factory Area and a reconciliation had also been reached between the parties. However, Assistant Sub-Inspector Muhammad Usman was forcing him to give a bribe by keeping his case pending for no reason and was demanding a bribe in the name of the SHO. Director Anti-Corruption Sargodha asked Tasawer Bossal for a raid, on which Deputy Director Anti-Corruption raided on the spot and arrested the accused red-handed while taking a bribe of fifty thousand rupees.
The bribe-taking accused has been transferred to the Anti-Corruption Sargodha, where an FIR has been registered against the accused. It is important to note here that the scope of the investigation has been expanded and the investigation is also being carried out including the SHO of the Factory Area Police Station.
