Quetta: Inspector General of Police Balochistan Muhammad Tahir has said that the provincial police is a disciplined and organized force, playing a frontline role in protecting lives and property, maintaining peace, and combating terrorism and criminal elements. He expressed these views while addressing a police darbar in Quetta.
The IG Police emphasized that the sacrifices of officers and personnel are unforgettable, and the martyrs’ contributions will always be remembered with respect and honor. He praised the dedication of police officials who continue to serve with responsibility, professionalism, and determination despite difficult circumstances.
Highlighting modernization efforts, Muhammad Tahir said that the policing system in Quetta is being aligned with contemporary requirements through the provision of advanced equipment, resources, and facilities. He noted that around 200 armored vehicles, more than 800 motorcycles, and modern weapons are being supplied to strengthen the force. Special importance
is also being given to professional training to enhance the capacity of officers and personnel.
The IG Police stated that promises made during previous police darbars regarding training and welfare are being fulfilled step by step. He added that effective measures are underway to ensure the welfare of the force, provision of facilities, and professional development.
During the Police Darbar, Muhammad Tahir listened to individual grievances of personnel, issuing immediate orders on personal matters. He also directed the solarization of tube wells in police lines to improve facilities.
Reaffirming his commitment, he said: ‘We will continue efforts to further strengthen the professional capabilities of the police force, promote modern policing, and ensure the welfare of officers and personnel.’
